Promoting youth, orienting students

In the context of the explosion of the Internet and social networks, the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation has become more urgent. At Bac Lieu University, this work is directly and consistently directed by the school's Party Committee. The Party Committee Secretary also holds the role of Head of the unit's Steering Committee and is a member of the Provincial Steering Committee 35.

Mr. Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded scholarships to students at the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year of Bac Lieu University.

According to the latest statistics, 98% of Bac Lieu University students regularly use smart devices to study and access the Internet; of which 1,811 students use Facebook, 100% use Zalo and many have TikTok accounts. This reality poses a significant challenge, because students are young, knowledgeable but lack life experience, and are easily influenced by false information on cyberspace .

Recognizing the risks, in recent years, the school has implemented many synchronous solutions to promote the role of students in protecting the Party's ideological foundation. The school established a team of 190 propagandists, the core of which are members of the Young Theory Club, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union branches and the 5 Good Students Club. This force is equipped with solid knowledge of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought, and has enough courage to refute distorted arguments with sharp and convincing arguments.

At the same time, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle is considered key content.

Mr. Ngo Duc Luu, Party Secretary and Chairman of the School Board, emphasized: “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style is extremely meaningful for the young generation, especially students, the future owners of the country”. The school encourages students to maintain a pure and healthy lifestyle; practice “diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality and selflessness”; and at the same time spread the spirit of mutual love and affection in the community.

Notably, Bac Lieu University has effectively applied social networks in student management and public opinion. Through Zalo groups, the school has both implemented propaganda work and received feedback from students to promptly orient and process information on cyberspace. At the same time, many positive movements and trends have been organized online, attracting more than 1,300 students to participate. Students are also encouraged to share outstanding events, activities and admission information of the school on their personal pages, contributing to cleaning up cyberspace.

"Battlefield" on the ideological front

Not only at the university level, the province's system of 6 colleges, with 446 managers and lecturers and an enrollment scale of 33,375 students in the 2021-2025 period, is also becoming a solid "battlefield" on the ideological front.

Currently, schools are organizing the "Citizenship - Student Activities Week" for the 2025-2026 school year with 14 topics, equipping students with knowledge about the domestic and international political, economic and social situation; the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, especially issues directly related to youth and students. Thereby, contributing to educating the ideology, ethics, lifestyle and civic awareness of the young generation.

Mr. Bao Thanh Hoang, Vice Principal of Ca Mau Medical College, said: The results of participating in the "Citizenship - Student Activity Week" will be included in the criteria for evaluating training results, and at the same time will be the basis for considering class emulation in the 2025-2026 school year. This shows the seriousness and importance of the school in political and ideological education.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Duong, Deputy Head of the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Provincial Police, disseminated the Law on Cyber ​​Security and the Code of Conduct in Cyberspace to students of Binh Duong University Branch in Ca Mau at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.

To effectively protect the Party's ideological foundation, colleges focus on raising students' awareness and actions. The teaching staff is identified as "vanguard soldiers", spreading the revolutionary flame through each lecture, activity, and scientific research, helping students clearly understand their role and responsibility in building and defending the Fatherland.

Students actively participated in political contests on protecting ideological foundations organized by the Provincial Party Committee and many achieved high results - a testament to the initiative and responsibility of the youth. Party development work among students was also focused on, creating an environment for them to nurture revolutionary ideals, aspirations to dedicate and contribute to the common cause.

In the age of social networks, colleges proactively guide students to use the Internet responsibly, spreading official information and good cultural values. Many units also established Young Theory Clubs, training writing and argumentation skills, equipping students with knowledge to become steadfast propagandists in cyberspace, directly participating in the fight and refuting false and hostile arguments.

It can be affirmed that the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation at universities and colleges in Ca Mau has been put into practice, linking theory with action. These efforts not only contribute to maintaining the ideological "stronghold" in the digital age, but also nurture a generation of young people in the province with strong political will, rich in knowledge, ready to contribute to the development of their homeland and country.
