Ninh Binh province's education sector has many prospects after the merger

GD&TĐ - After the merger, the education sector of Ninh Binh province not only increased strongly in scale but also converged many factors for comprehensive and sustainable development.

Synergy from three solid foundations

After merging the three provinces of Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh and Ha Nam, the education sector of Ninh Binh province inherited a solid foundation from all three localities that had a long tradition of learning.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh province, as of July 1, the whole province has 953,223 preschool children, primary school students, and continuingeducation students studying at educational institutions in the area. Of which, there are 213,800 preschool children studying at 503 schools; 332,192 primary school students studying at 488 schools; 255,880 secondary school students at 471 schools; and 119,826 high school students at 110 schools. The whole province has 23,775 students studying at 25 vocational education - continuing education centers and about 7,750 students studying at 20 inter-level schools.

In addition, the teaching staff is also large, with more than 46,400 teachers at all levels. Among them, many teachers have high professional qualifications, actively innovate methods, apply information technology, and teach in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities.

One of the bright spots is that the entire Ninh Binh province currently has 1,495/1,558 schools meeting national standards, accounting for 96%. This is a solid foundation for the Ninh Binh education sector after the merger to develop in a comprehensive, synchronous and modern direction.

Notably, after the reorganization, Ninh Binh province has 3 specialized schools including: Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted and Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted. These specialized schools all retain their original names after the reorganization.

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Ninh Binh province has a total of 46,667 candidates registered for the exam, including 1,141 independent candidates (the 2018 General Education Program is 45,896 students; the 2006 General Education Program is 771 students). In this exam, Ninh Binh is the leading locality nationwide in terms of average scores in Mathematics, Information Technology and Geography.

With an increasingly synchronous education system, a team of highly qualified teachers and close attention from Party committees and authorities at all levels, Ninh Binh's education sector has many great opportunities to make a breakthrough.

At the 10th Congress of the Party Committee of the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh, term 2025-2030, Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc suggested a number of orientational issues for the Congress to discuss and the whole sector to organize and implement in the coming time, including paying attention to building a new education system of Ninh Binh province with its own identity based on the common cultural and historical traditions of the three provinces of Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Ha Nam.

The education sector needs to closely combine modern knowledge education with traditional values; maintain, preserve and further promote the tradition of love of learning, respect for words and achievements in education and training of the three localities in recent times.

In addition, digital transformation must be promoted more strongly and substantially throughout the industry. This is a very urgent requirement, a mandatory requirement for the whole society, the political system and the entire education sector to be more proactive, more positive and to be ahead.

At the first meeting right after the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee announced the decisions to appoint leaders of the Department of Education and Training, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Education and Training emphasized: The merger of 3 administrative units requires the education sector to have strong adjustments, proactive adaptation, while ensuring continuity and stability in direction and operation.

Inheriting the achieved results and clear orientation, it can be seen that the education sector of Ninh Binh province after the merger is entering a new development cycle, with a large scale, strong potential, unified organization and clear orientation. This is the time for the sector not only to maintain achievements, stabilize the system but also make a stronger breakthrough, moving towards building a high-quality, modern, and unique education system - contributing to creating a sustainable knowledge foundation for the long-term development of Ninh Binh province.
