Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province - Nguyen Van Khoi praised the positive contributions of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the overall socio -economic development of the province in the first 6 months of 2024. In the field of sports, the department has achieved many outstanding achievements, successfully organized 2 provincial-level sports tournaments; coordinated with the National Department of Physical Training and Sports to successfully host 4 national tournaments, participated in 1 international tournament, 7 sports tournaments in the national competition system, won 59 medals of all kinds... In the field of tourism promotion and promotion, it has achieved positive results, the total number of tourists to the province is estimated at more than 1.7 million, reaching 58% of the yearly plan, an increase of 13% compared to the first 6 months of 2023. In addition, total revenue from tourism is estimated at nearly 925.5 billion VND, reaching 58% of the yearly plan.
