National Border Guard Day 2024

In anticipation of the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard Force's Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2024), on February 27, the Provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organized the 2024 National Border Guard Day in My Dong Ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City). Attending the event were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Van Binh, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and Chau Thi Thanh Ha, Secretary of the Phan Rang - Thap Cham City Party Committee.

My Dong is one of five wards located in the coastal border area of Phan Rang-Thap Cham City, with a total population of over 3,500 households/15,600 people. The majority of residents rely on aquaculture and fisheries for their livelihood. In fulfilling the strategic task of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, My Dong ward has established 41 self-governing security and order groups and 9 solidarity groups for fisheries exploitation, comprising 60 vessels and 50 members who are regularly active. They guide collectives, households, and individuals to sign commitments not to use explosives or electric shock devices for fishing, and not to encroach on the territorial waters of neighboring countries for fishing...

Policies for people with meritorious service and difficult circumstances in My Dong ward.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province praised the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee, People's Committee, border guards, and people of My Dong ward in fulfilling the tasks of protecting border and maritime sovereignty and security , maintaining social order and safety, participating in economic development, overcoming poverty, and working together to build an increasingly beautiful ward. He requested that in the coming time, the Party Committee, government, border guards, and people and fishermen of My Dong ward continue to build upon the achievements; strengthen propaganda work and raise awareness of protecting border and maritime sovereignty and security; and improve the quality and effectiveness of self-governance models of the movement "All people participate in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security in the new situation". Continue to mobilize resources to care for and assist poor households, poor fishermen's households, and people with particularly difficult circumstances, especially families with children serving or fulfilling their duties in Truong Sa who are facing difficulties, with the determination to "leave no one behind"; pay attention to building cultured families and exemplary families, working together to build a united, peaceful, prosperous, and happy residential area, contributing to making Phan Rang-Thap Cham City increasingly civilized, modern, and developed.

At the 2024 National Border Guard Day, Comrade Le Van Binh, Comrade Chau Thi Thanh Ha, and leaders of the Provincial Border Guard Command presented 32 gifts to disadvantaged families of policy beneficiaries and meritorious individuals in the ward, and 4 gifts under the "Helping Children Go to School" program. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province awarded 15 scholarships to poor but studious students. The People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the movement "All citizens participate in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security in the new situation" in 2023.
