Over 80 years of construction, fighting and growth, Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces have inherited, promoted, developed and enriched the glorious traditions of the nation, the Party, the army and the homeland.
In any circumstances, fighting or building, at the front or in the rear, fighting domestically or performing international missions, the Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces are always present in the leading position and make outstanding achievements, contributing with the army and people of the whole country to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945.
During the struggle for national liberation and protection of the Fatherland, Nghe An had 506,000 people join the army, 45,000 people join the Youth Volunteer Force, and more than 120,000 people join the frontline civilian labor force. Of these, 2,020 mothers were awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother, more than 45,000 martyrs, more than 40,000 war invalids and people enjoying policies like war invalids, and over 11,000 sick soldiers.

During the period of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nghe An Armed Forces always uphold the spirit of revolutionary vigilance, contributing to preventing all plots and actions that violate the sovereignty of the borders, seas and islands of the Fatherland; creatively and effectively implementing socio-economic development programs, participating in the construction of economic-defense zones and areas of strategic significance of the province.
Along with that, the provincial armed forces always actively participate in movements to repay gratitude, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, build new rural areas; build safe areas, build the political system and grassroots cultural life, especially in key areas, remote areas, ethnic minority areas, border areas and islands.
Thereby, it contributes significantly to the cause of consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc, strengthening the "people's hearts and minds", potential and national defense posture.

Nghe An Military Forces are always the leading force in natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, dealing with the consequences of war and implementing the military rear policy well. In addition, Nghe An Military Forces have effectively supported neighboring Lao provinces with many practical actions; coordinated well in collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos to return to Vietnam, contributing to preserving and promoting the Vietnam-Laos friendship.
Over the past 80 years, generations of cadres and soldiers of Nghe An Armed Forces have united and achieved many resounding victories, contributing to the whole country's struggle for independence and freedom, and advancing towards building socialism.

With the achievements in 80 years of construction, fighting and growth, Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces were honored to be awarded the title of People's Armed Forces Hero twice by the Party and State, 1 Gold Star Order, 3 Independence Orders, 1 Military Exploit Order and many other noble awards... On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces, the President honored to award the First Class Fatherland Protection Order.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Le Van Trung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 4 congratulated and highly appreciated the feats and achievements of the Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces over the past 80 years.
The Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region suggested that in the coming time, Nghe An Military Forces continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on military, national defense and national protection; do a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities to lead and direct the implementation of military and national defense tasks... Focus on building a contingent of cadres and soldiers with strong political will, excellently completing all assigned tasks.

At the same time, strengthen the synchronous leadership of solutions to build a strong provincial Military Party Committee in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres... to ensure logistics and technical work, and take good care of soldiers' lives. Focus on implementing well the work of defense diplomacy, contributing to raising the position of the provincial military to a new level.
At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Major General Le Van Trung - Member of the Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy Commissar of Military Region 4 awarded the President's First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Armed Forces of Nghe An province.
