With a core and specialized role in building, managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, over the past 65 years, officers and soldiers of the Border Guard have always been steadfast on all fronts, excellently completing all tasks assigned by the Party, State, army and people. Hundreds of groups and individuals have been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, thousands of wounded and martyrs have held on, fought until their last bullet and breath to defend every inch of the Fatherland's border.

Up to now, the Border Guard Political Department has advised and guided the implementation of 22 movements, programs, models and initiatives with high efficiency. In particular, the Border Guard Political Department has advised the Command to direct and implement programs with profound humanistic meanings, such as "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of Border Guard stations", "Border Spring warms the hearts of the villagers", "Border Mid-Autumn Festival Night", "Accompanying Border Women"... Thereby, thousands of billions of VND have been mobilized to help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, stabilize their lives in border areas, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups.

At the same time, advise and implement many border foreign affairs activities such as: "Border Defense Friendship Exchange", "Border Friendship Exchange", "Political Work Exchange", "Young Officer Exchange"; advise localities to organize the signing of agreements between 218 pairs of residential clusters on both sides of the border... Thereby contributing to consolidating, enhancing and developing solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the border management and protection forces and the people on both sides of the border, building a peaceful , friendly, stable, cooperative and developing border.
