The Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health has just reported the results of the investigation and monitoring of the suspected food poisoning case on the evening of June 2 at Pho Dem Vuon restaurant, branch 3 (Hung Vuong street, ward 7, Tuy Hoa city).
Accordingly, at 8:30 a.m. on June 4, Phu Yen Department of Health received a report that 7 patients were being treated for suspected food poisoning at Dong Hoa Town Medical Center.
The Department has coordinated with the Center for Disease Control, Tuy Hoa City Medical Center, Dong Hoa Town and Ward 7 People's Committee to monitor and investigate the cause of the food poisoning incident and establish an inspection team according to regulations.
The inspection results showed that the restaurant violated a number of errors in the field of food service business and the Department of Health is taking strict action according to the law.
At the same time, the specialized departments of the Department of Health have investigated the suspected food poisoning case, according to the decision of the Ministry of Health on the regulations for investigating food poisoning.
Investigation results show that the buffet meal at Pho Dem Vuon restaurant branch 3 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 2 had 170 diners.
At 7:00 a.m. on June 3, the first hospitalization was recorded, and at 1:30 p.m. on June 3, the last hospitalization was recorded.
A total of 7 people were hospitalized with symptoms of severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. No further hospitalizations were recorded in the next 48 hours.
Dong Hoa Town Medical Center treated the symptoms, but could not obtain samples for testing to find the cause of the poisoning.
None of the hospitalized patients were in serious condition. As of 5:30 p.m. on June 6, all seven cases were in stable condition and had been discharged from the hospital.
At the time of investigation, the working group did not collect food samples because when the poisoning cases were discovered, it had been 2 days, so the facility no longer had food samples or related ingredients.
Dong Hoa Town Medical Center reported the completion of treatment of suspected food poisoning cases. The unit diagnosed 7 cases of treatment and discharged with the disease code of gastroenteritis and colitis due to infection and the source of infection is unknown; irritable bowel syndrome, with diarrhea; nausea and vomiting.
Dong Hoa Town Medical Center has not diagnosed any cases of food poisoning.
Based on the above investigation and epidemiological analysis, the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health believes that the suspected food poisoning case after eating buffet dishes at Pho Dem Vuon restaurant, branch 3 on the evening of June 2, customers had symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, which is not enough basis to conclude the food poisoning case .
