"F1" is Apple's highest-grossing film
According to Variety, the racing blockbuster "F1" recently surpassed "Napoleon" to become Apple's highest-grossing film to date, with $293 million after more than a week of release. Previously, the film "Napoleon" directed by Ridley Scott achieved $221 million .
Initial success of "F1" is credited by the media with Brad Pitt's great contribution - the superstar who had an impressive performance in the film. Doug Eldridge, founder of the media company Achilles PR, shared with Fox News: "Over the past 35 years, Pitt has participated in more than 60 movies and about 20 TV series. But what makes him a Hollywood icon is not the quantity, but the quality of those projects."
Eldridge further explained: “Early in his career, Pitt was known as the ‘sexy male god’, captivating audiences with his deep eyes and toned abs. However, in the mid- to late 1990s, his career took a turn when he starred in two iconic films, ‘Seven’ and ‘Fight Club’. From there, Pitt conquered both male and female audiences.”
Eldridge then compared Pitt to actor Robert Redford, saying that despite being past his youth, the actor is still full of style and charm, maintains his sobriety, and most importantly, finds roles that suit him.
In the 2000s, Pitt ventured into action blockbusters like "Troy," "World War Z," and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" along with the "Ocean's 11" series. He also collaborated with Quentin Tarantino in "Inglourious Basterds" and won the 2020 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Cascade Booth in "Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood." Pitt previously won an Oscar in 2014 as a producer for "12 Years a Slave."
Media expert Matt Wolf commented: “Brad Pitt is still a household name, and his appeal has never faded. It is his ability to choose scripts and act authentically that has helped him continue to be successful at the box office."
Meanwhile, Jared Meade - founder of Rayne Strategy Group - believes that Pitt is smart to "play the long game" in building his image. The expert assesses that despite being involved in many controversies in his personal life - including the messy divorce with Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie - the actor still maintains a fairly positive image in the public eye.
Meade believes that Brad Pitt is not in a hurry to correct his mistakes or create attention-grabbing tricks whenever he is involved in a scandal. Instead, the "F1" star "lets time, quality work and self-control heal his personal image."
Pitt is also praised for his openness about personal issues, such as his battle with alcoholism. “He doesn’t shy away from his personal mistakes, he admits them, he doesn’t exaggerate or justify them. This makes the public more sympathetic,” Jared Meade said. “Although some of the allegations against Pitt are serious, Pitt’s image has never been that of a predator, a schemer, or someone who intentionally causes harm. So far, the public seems to have forgiven him. They still love Pitt, despite his flaws.”
