The village of Ollolai on the island of Sardinia is trying to increase its population after decades of decline by attracting Americans looking for a new home. We have created this website specifically now to meet the needs of Americans who want to emigrate after the election," said Ollolai Mayor Francesco Columbo. He went on to describe the different options available to individuals interested in the village. Ready-to-move-in homes are priced at up to €100,000, while those in need of renovation are selling for €1. "Americans are usually very quick. We are betting on them to help us revive the village, they are our winning card," he stressed. Ollolai first announced the project in August and more than 18,000 people applied.
