According to the ATP, both Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner will not participate in the Canadian Open 2025 due to injury. Italian media reported that Jannik Sinner is having problems with his right elbow, stemming from a fall at Wimbledon 2025.
Meanwhile, Djokovic has not fully recovered from a thigh injury and needs more time to rest. The Serbian tennis player wants to be in the best shape before participating in the upcoming Cincinnati Open and US Open in the US.

Jannik Sinner: “I am disappointed that I cannot come to Toronto, but I have great memories here. I won the Canadian Open two years ago and those are moments that I will never forget.
I thank the tournament organizers for always caring and giving me special affection. I believe I will soon return to the tournament and receive enthusiastic support from the fans."
In addition to Sinner and Djokovic, Jack Draper will also be unable to participate in the 2025 Canadian Open. The British tennis player suffered an arm injury at Wimbledon 2025.
