Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong, member of the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Elderly Association, former President of the Tay Ho District Elderly Association (old) shared that Tay Ho is the first unit to organize training courses on "Digital Literacy" for the elderly. With detailed, easy-to-remember, easy-to-understand instruction materials, the classes have equipped members with important skills such as: Using VNeID and iHanoi applications...
At the same time, the Ward Elderly Association has provided the elderly with skills to prevent online fraud, updated common fraud tricks and instructed them on how to recognize and prevent them effectively; promoted the application of technology in business, instructed the elderly on how to use social networks and even artificial intelligence (AI) to promote and sell traditional products such as lotus tea, peach and kumquat trees.
In addition to digital transformation, the Tay Ho Elderly Association also focuses on green transformation through movements such as "60 minutes for a green Tay Ho", "waste classification at source", and "reusing old items". These models not only contribute to preserving the landscape but also spread the spirit of positive and responsible living.

Delegates attending the workshop
"The combination of digital transformation and green transformation in traditional craft villages has helped preserve cultural quintessence, while opening up opportunities to develop experiential tourism and OCOP products, affirming that the elderly are creative "advanced digital citizens" - Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong emphasized.
In order for Project 379 to truly go into depth and bring about sustainable effectiveness, delegates at the workshop made many breakthrough recommendations and proposals, focusing on solving practical challenges. Mr. Nguyen The Toan - Chairman of the Hanoi Association of the Elderly, said that although the capital has superior technology infrastructure and high-quality elderly human resources, there is still a digital gap due to fear and lack of specialized training programs.
To overcome this, Mr. Nguyen The Toan proposed a series of strong solutions, most notably the development of easy-to-understand "digital handbooks". These programs need to be free or low-cost, with simple content, focusing on essential skills such as using online public services, cashless payments and especially skills to prevent fraud in cyberspace - a burning issue today. At the same time, it is necessary to develop support infrastructure by establishing community digital support centers and supporting the provision of digital devices for the elderly.
In his concluding remarks at the workshop, Mr. Phan Van Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly (VAE) affirmed the importance of the contributions, considering them a valuable source of documents for the Association to research and develop policies.
At the same time, it affirmed that from these in-depth analyses, the Association will have a more comprehensive view of opportunities and challenges to make appropriate adjustments to remove difficulties and promote the role of the elderly in digital transformation, green transformation, entrepreneurship and job creation.
