On September 4, Tan Son Nhat Airport operated 723 flights, with an expected passenger volume of more than 115,000, of which about 66,000 passengers returned to Ho Chi Minh City, mainly on flights from the North and Central regions.

According to records at the domestic arrivals terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport, despite the high number of passengers, there was no overload or congestion, both inside the airport and on surrounding roads.

Passengers flock to Tan Son Nhat airport on the last day of the September 2nd holiday.

Today, Tan Son Nhat airport welcomed more than 66,000 passengers returning from the provinces. Although crowded, there was no overload.

Also this afternoon, the Eastern and Western Bus Stations had a large number of passengers returning to the city, but there was no overload or jostling; it was convenient to get luggage and go home.

According to records at the gateways to Ho Chi Minh City such as National Highway 1 from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City; National Highway 13 from Binh Duong to Ho Chi Minh City; National Highway 22 from Tay Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City; Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway... are all crowded. There are times when traffic congestion occurs but not to a serious level.

Since early afternoon, the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway in the direction of Ho Chi Minh City has been experiencing traffic congestion. In the photo, the intersection of National Highway 51 and the expressway has been experiencing a long traffic jam.

Slow moving vehicles on the highway

The last section of the highway, near the An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City), experienced slight congestion. The cause was a bottleneck on the road surface due to the construction of the An Phu intersection project.
In the West, from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City, traffic congestion occurred at intersections and waiting for red lights.

Many people carried a lot of luggage when returning to the city.

As the evening progressed, the number of vehicles, mainly motorbikes, from the West to Ho Chi Minh City became more crowded, causing traffic jams to last longer.
On the afternoon of September 4, traffic through the Cat Lai ferry area (from Nhon Trach to Ho Chi Minh City) was slightly congested.

Many people carry luggage and gifts from home on motorbikes back to Ho Chi Minh City.

The staff at the ferry terminal divided into many groups to sell tickets to customers to spread out the traffic flow, limiting the number of people gathering at the same time at the ferry terminal to Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Director of Thanh Nien Xung Phong Ferry Management Enterprise: "Currently, the ferry terminal mobilizes 8 ferries and 100% of its staff to organize frequency regulation, prioritizing passenger transport from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City to reduce congestion".
Cars lined up neatly from Dong Nai province to Cat Lai ferry (HCMC).
“I waited nearly half an hour to get on the ferry. Traffic today is quite clear compared to other holidays,” said driver Vo Van Hoa.
Many children fell asleep, tired from the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Today, the number of ferries will be increased to a maximum of 300 trips/day to avoid congestion and serve people's travel needs.
At 7pm, the crowd pouring into the ferry was still crowded.

According to the leader of the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, to ensure traffic safety at the gateways to Ho Chi Minh City, the unit has directed the Traffic Police forces in charge of the area to increase traffic control personnel, proactively divert traffic from a distance, and avoid vehicles moving in large numbers in one direction.
