Citizens will receive free annual health checkups starting in 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has just signed a directive on organizing free periodic health check-ups or screenings for the people. According to the directive, from 2026, people will receive at least one free periodic health check-up or screening per year and will have an electronic health record created to track their health throughout their life cycle.

Residents will receive free annual health checkups starting in 2026.

The government aims to ensure that by the end of 2026, all citizens will have access to free health check-up programs, contributing to early disease detection, reduced healthcare costs, and improved quality of community healthcare.

The Prime Minister requested that ministries, departments, and localities urgently develop plans, allocate resources, and intensify public awareness campaigns to encourage people to proactively participate in regular health check-ups.
