According to Ms. Thu, although this area was previously famous among Ho Chi Minh City residents for selling food and drinks, she believes that in the future, this food street will attract more tourists and diners to visit, and her business will also become more favorable.

Ms. Ngoc, an employee at a cafe here, also excitedly said that today, Phan Xich Long Street is busier than on weekdays. "Many people know that today is the opening day of the culinary city, so they come to visit. We are so happy. Our shop will continue to try to serve well the customers who have supported us over the years," she said.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Do Dang Ai, Vice Chairman of Phu Nhuan District People's Committee, said that Phan Xich Long area is home to 220 food and beverage businesses, including over 80 business-scale businesses, many of which are famous domestically and internationally.

"Immediately after the Covid-19 epidemic ended, the district urgently initiated the contents related to the project to ensure the operation of Phan Xich Long culinary street in an orderly manner, in a civilized and modern direction, ensuring security, order and urban beauty," the leader of Phu Nhuan District added.

Previously, on the evening of January 19, Thao Dien night street (Thu Duc City) officially launched and became the 9th night street in Ho Chi Minh City. The remaining streets include Bui Vien and Nguyen Hue walking streets (District 1), Nguyen Thuong Hien food street (District 3), Vinh Khanh (District 4), Hau Giang (District 6), Ho Thi Ky, Quang Trung flagpole (District 10), Phan Xich Long (Phu Nhuan District).
