On the evening of January 11, at the Culture, Information and Sports Center of Son Tay town (Hanoi), the final round of the Miss Ao Dai Heritage Vietnam 2024 contest took place.

The Miss Ao Dai Heritage Vietnam 2024 contest is not only a beauty contest but also a journey to discover and honor the traditional beauty of the Vietnamese Ao Dai.

The Miss Ao Dai Heritage Vietnam contest hopes to encourage love and deep understanding of the national cultural heritage, and is also a platform for contestants to demonstrate their abilities, confidence and intelligence.

Top 16 evening gowns by designer Han Phuong

The final night opened with the performances of "Non la ao dai" and "Em xinh" with the participation of the top 30 in ao dai.

After an impressive performance in ao dai by designer Thoa Tran, the judges announced the list of the top 16 finalists and continued to perform in gorgeous evening gowns by designer Han Phuong.

The top 7 best contestants participating in the behavioral round were announced, including: Hoang Chau Anh (028 - Cao Bang); Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Tien (036 - Phu Tho); Nguyen Thi Thao (070 - Hai Duong); Le Thi Ngoc Lan (007 - Thanh Hoa); Do Thu Hien (136 - Quang Ninh); Ha Hong Gam (069 - Thanh Hoa) and Bui Quynh Anh (087 - Bac Giang ).

In the behavioral round, beauty Hoang Chau Anh received a question from Miss Ngoc Chau: "The Ao Dai of Vietnamese women has existed for a long time and has gone through many stages and changes in the nation's history, but until now it still affirms its value and is associated with the image of Vietnamese women. Why do you think it has been kept like that?"

Hoang Chau Anh replied bilingually: "In my opinion, the reason why the ao dai can survive through the ups and downs of history and is still closely associated with the image of Vietnamese women is because of two main reasons: First, the ao dai is not only a costume but also a cultural symbol, honoring the beauty of the body and soul of Vietnamese women, gentle, resilient, and full of courage.

Ms. Nguyen Nhu Quynh, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, crowned the new Miss Hoang Chau Anh.

Over time, the ao dai still holds a special place in the hearts of Vietnamese people, and is the pride of the nation. Secondly, the ao dai is always renewed to suit each period without losing its core features. That flexibility helps the ao dai both preserve its traditional identity and become an endless source of inspiration in modern fashion. To me, the ao dai is the soul of the nation.

Every time I put on the ao dai, I feel the cultural beauty and a deep sense of responsibility to preserve and spread that value. If I have the opportunity, I wish to become a bridge, contributing to bringing the image of the ao dai beyond the borders of Vietnam, so that the ao dai is not only a precious heritage of the nation but also becomes an everlasting symbol, affirming its special position in the hearts of Vietnamese people and international friends."

New Miss Hoang Chau Anh

In the end, beauty Hoang Chau Anh was crowned Miss Ao Dai Heritage Vietnam 2024. In addition to the title of Miss, Hoang Chau Anh also won two additional awards: Miss Talent and Miss Best Behavior.

The first runner-up title was awarded to contestant Do Thu Hien and the second runner-up title went to Ha Hong Gam; the third runner-up was Nguyen Thi Thao and the fourth runner-up was Le Thi Ngoc Lan.

In particular, the final night of Miss Ao Dai Heritage Vietnam 2024 was emotional with the performances of singers Ha Tran, Phuong My Chi and Thoai Nghi.

New Miss Hoang Chau Anh and 4 runners-up of the contest

The new Miss Hoang Chau Anh was born in 2005, a former student of Cao Bang High School, currently a student of Hanoi Foreign Trade University. Right from the preliminary round, Hoang Chau Anh was a strong candidate with a lovely face and a height of 1m73.

The new Miss Ao Dai Heritage Vietnam not only impressed with her elegant beauty and confident demeanor, but also conquered the public with her impressive academic achievements, excellent artistic talent and strong love for traditional Vietnamese culture. She has an IELTS certificate of 6.5; first prize in physics at the school-level olympiad; second prize in the provincial science and technology competition; promising prize at the national science and technology competition...

After being crowned, the new Miss Ao Dai Heritage Vietnam will participate in the Miss Tourism World 2025 contest held in Vietnam.
