These days, new students across the country are completing admission procedures. At Van Hien University, among the young faces of new students, the image of Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Hoang, 62 years old, stands out and makes many people admire. At the age of 62, Ms. Hoang officially became a new student of the Chinese Language Department, majoring in Translation and Interpretation.
Ms. Hoang already had a university degree but still wanted to continue to conquer a new field of study.

“As I get older, my memory declines, so I want to find a way to train my brain and keep my mind sharp. For me, learning a new subject is both a challenge and a joy,” said Ms. Hoang.
Ms. Hoang's love for Chinese characters came from the times she went to pagodas, seeing the Buddhist scriptures and parallel sentences that made her eager to learn. Self-studying at home was not effective, so she decided to go to university to receive formal training. Van Hien University was close to her home and convenient to travel to, so Ms. Hoang considered this the right choice.
For Ms. Hoang, studying is not only to get a degree but also to nurture the spirit, to help herself stay young and live a more positive life. She believes that learning is not only from books, but also from every experience, from people and life around us. As long as there is an opportunity, we must continue to learn, because knowledge helps us broaden our horizons and enrich our lives.
In 2025, the benchmark score of Van Hien University according to the 2025 high school graduation exam results is 15 to 18. The benchmark score of the academic transcript is 18, and the benchmark score of the 2025 capacity assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University is 600.
