On the first day of competition at Trang An Golf & Resort, golfer Nguyen Tat Thang surprised everyone by taking the lead in the Middle-aged Men's category with a score of 73 strokes.

The most outstanding competitor was golfer Nguyen Tat Thang with a round of golf of 73 strokes. With a handicap index of 10.2, the 53-year-old golfer was able to re-establish his personal record with a score of +1 stroke, which he previously set in a round at Tam Dao golf course.

This time, Nguyen Tat Thang started with a bogey on the first hole, but he came back strongly with 4 birdies in the next 6 holes, before making another bogey on hole 8 to get -2 strokes. In the next 9 holes, the 53-year-old golfer made 3 more bogeys, but his total score of +1 still helped him take the top spot, 1 stroke better than athlete Nguyen Van Tam.

Player Nguyen Van Tam is much more famous than his opponent. He currently has a handicap index of 2.2 and has won many amateur golf tournaments in the North. The 51-year-old player scored 4 birdies, but also had 4 bogeys and 1 double bogey to achieve a score of 74 strokes. Tran Quang Tien and Nguyen Quoc Cong shared 3rd place in the Middle-aged Men's group with a result of +4 strokes.

In the Senior Men's category, 61-year-old golfer Hoang Mai leads with 77 strokes +5, followed by Nguyen Quoc An with 79 strokes +7.

Meanwhile, two very familiar names, Ngo Thi An Trinh and Nguyen Thi To Uyen, are temporarily sharing the top spot in the Middle-aged Women's category with the same score of 81 strokes +9. The defending champion, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung, had a not-so-good day with 84 strokes +12 and is temporarily ranked 3rd.

The top position in the Senior Women's category is currently 58-year-old golfer Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa with a score of 88 strokes +16, 2 strokes ahead of Dang Thi Lan Huong and Bui Thi Hong Thanh.
