One of the places associated with him is "Nam Duong Hotel", where he stayed and worked during the difficult years of the resistance war against French colonialism.

Located at the foot of Ngu Phong Mountain, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province, President Ho Chi Minh's "old residence" has become one of the special historical addresses, marking his years of revolutionary activities in China. This house was built in 1930 and named "Nanyang Hotel". After nearly 100 years of ups and downs, this place still retains the typical architecture of the Republic of China.

According to Liuzhou culture and history expert Xie Chaode, President Ho Chi Minh came to Liuzhou four times to carry out revolutionary activities.

From 1943 to 1944, President Ho Chi Minh came to Liuzhou and lived at the “Nanyang Hotel” for a year. During this time, he presided over the reorganization of the Vietnam Revolutionary Alliance and was elected Vice President of the Association in March 1944.

Later, President Ho Chi Minh established the Vietnam Revolutionary Cadre Training Class in the southeastern suburbs of Liuzhou, training the core force for the Vietnam Revolutionary movement. In the simple space of the hotel, historic decisions were made, contributing to the victory of the long-term resistance war.

Today, President Ho Chi Minh's "old house" has become a red address in the journey to learn about Vietnam-China friendship. The local government and people have preserved and treasured the memorabilia and images of the time President Ho Chi Minh stayed here.

Some rooms and working spaces have been restored to their original state, helping the young generations of the two countries better understand the pure international spirit and the close solidarity between the Vietnamese and Chinese people.

The exhibition area preserves many valuable relics, from tables, chairs, wooden beds to manuscripts and pictures that he used. Standing out in the exhibition space is the bronze bust of President Ho Chi Minh, presented by Vietnam, as a symbol of friendship and the history of the two peoples standing side by side.

The former residence of President Ho Chi Minh is not only a place to mark the footsteps of the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, but also a vivid testament to the traditional friendship between the two neighboring countries. With its special historical values, this place increasingly attracts many delegations, scholars and tourists to visit and research.

As a tour guide working at the souvenir house for 7 years, Ms. Ly Tiep witnessed a clear change in the number of Vietnamese visitors coming here.

She shared: “The former residence of President Ho Chi Minh is not only a historical site but also a bridge connecting the friendship between China and Vietnam. Here, we welcome many Vietnamese delegations to visit, including government delegations, tourist groups, and Vietnamese students. The delegations who come here all express their gratitude for preserving and conserving the relics of President Ho Chi Minh. Therefore, this place has also become a testament to the friendship between China and Vietnam.”

Ms. Ly Tiep added that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, so more and more Vietnamese political leaders, organizations and student delegations are coming to Liuzhou to visit Ho Chi Minh's "old house".

According to cultural and historical expert Ta Sieu Duc, the former residence of President Ho Chi Minh not only carries revolutionary memories, but also the common aspiration for peace, development and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Chinese and Vietnamese people, as many Vietnamese officials and delegates left in their guestbooks after visiting this place: "Wishing for the Vietnam-China friendship to last forever."

The presence of President Ho Chi Minh's footprints in Liuzhou contributes to deepening the affection that the people of the two countries have for each other, while reminding today's generation of the responsibility to continue, preserve and promote the tradition of Vietnam-China friendship for peace, cooperation and development.
