Opening the parade was the heroic Vietnam People's Air Force, including squadrons of Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 helicopters; Casa C-295, C212i transport aircraft; Yak-130, L-39NG and Su-30MK2.

Leading the way was a squadron of Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 helicopters, carrying the Party flag and the national flag flying over the historic Ba Dinh Square.
