Mr. Ly Minh Han, consultant of the film "Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong" shares the reason for his admiration for the country and people of Vietnam. |
In the bustling atmosphere of the historic Autumn days leading up to the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), Mr. Ly Minh Han, consultant of the film "Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong" shared the reasons for admiring the country and people of Vietnam, from which he delved into the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh , the outstanding leader of the Vietnamese people.
Mr. Ly Minh Han shared that he has a “fate” with the “S-shaped country” and his love for Vietnam has been cultivated over the years. He was born in the year the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was founded. In 1965, he passed the entrance exam to the Vietnamese Department of Beijing Foreign Languages Institute (now Beijing Foreign Languages University).
After graduating, he worked at the Guangzhou Shipyard and it was this period that helped him become more attached to Vietnam. More specifically, Mr. Ly Minh Han was told by his father-in-law - Mr. Phung Hong (deceased) - about the honor of meeting President Ho Chi Minh in 1960-1961, when he was a chef for the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi . Mr. Phung Hong then cooked simple Cantonese dishes for the Chinese Ambassador to invite Uncle Ho to dinner.
Listening to stories about Uncle Ho told by his father-in-law, along with his love for Vietnam, Mr. Ly Minh Han deeply studied and researched the situation in Vietnam and the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh, especially the period after the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded, he was arrested, detained and brought to trial in Hong Kong (China).
During his time as an advisor on the film “Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong”, Mr. Ly Minh Han carefully researched the locations and landmarks associated with Uncle Ho. Therefore, over the years, whenever a group of Vietnamese tourists came to learn about the locations associated with President Ho Chi Minh, he enthusiastically led the groups to see and thoroughly explained about this unforgettable historical period.
Mr. Ly Minh Han believes that it is thanks to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, who personally steered the revolutionary ship, that Vietnam was able to achieve such a great victory. Just 15 years after the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded, President Ho Chi Minh led the Vietnamese people to gain power. No other country in Southeast Asia, and more broadly, Asia, has been able to do that.
Without the previous guidance and direction of President Ho Chi Minh as well as the enlightenment from his wise thoughts, Vietnam could not have had the era of peace and prosperity with a completely new look like today.
On every occasion of Vietnam's major holidays such as the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, Uncle Ho's birthday or National Day, Mr. Ly Minh Han often writes poems and shares them with friends in Hong Kong. And here are the latest poems he has just composed on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day:
"Welcome to National Day 80 Spring
Grateful Vietnamese remember great people
Establish a Party and wave the flag for a great cause
The Declaration of Independence penetrates the people's hearts.
