The MV was produced by Quynh Music House (Hoi Phu Ward) in collaboration with Diamond Pleiku Music Center (Pleiku Ward) and released on the occasion of September 2. From the patriotism of young people with traditional musical instruments, Ms. Ho Thi Nhu Quynh (born 2000) - Director of Quynh Music House came up with the idea of combining the zither with the violin to create a work that blends tradition and modernity, while conveying the love for the Fatherland and the pride of the young generation of Gia Lai on National Day September 2.

Ms. Ho Thi Nhu Quynh shared: “I used to cherish the idea of bringing the zither closer to young people by combining it with many different musical instruments. When I learned that Mr. Dung was a person who was attached to the violin, I decided to make a joint product to spread and bring the audience a different perspective on traditional musical instruments.”

The crew chose the song “Continuing the Peace Story” composed by musician Nguyen Van Chung in November 2023. The work quickly won the hearts of a large audience, especially young people, thanks to its familiar melody, positive message, and many cover versions.

According to Mr. Tran Xuan Dung - Director of Diamond Pleiku Music Center: "We chose the song "Writing the story of peace" because we wanted to perform this piece again to spread the spirit of patriotism through two different musical instruments. To record the song, we spent about 2 weeks to complete it before filming the MV".

To convey that spirit, the crew chose to film at two locations: the Pleiku Ward Children's House and the Great Unity Square (Pleiku Ward). Sharing about the choice, Mr. Dung said: “The Children's House is a place where young people are attached to every day and is also a cradle for nurturing talents. At the same time, we want to combine the image of the 'Uncle Ho with the Central Highlands ethnic groups' monument at the square in the MV, based on the song 'Thank you to our old Father on the road to save the country', to express the gratitude of Gia Lai youth for Uncle Ho's great contributions. This is also a familiar place, where Gia Lai people are always proud and have special affection", Mr. Dung said.

With a duration of more than 5 minutes, the images of Gia Lai youth living fully with music , contributing to continue writing the story of peace. 42 students of the zither and violin classes are arranged in a V shape with different costumes and colors.

Ms. Ho Nhu Quynh expressed: “We chose costumes with special meanings: the two people in the middle wore red ao dai, representing the color of the Vietnamese flag; the children wore blue ao dai with dove motifs to symbolize peace; and the other students wore white to symbolize students. Through this, we want to send the message that the story of peace will continue to be written by young people through music.”

Cao Thai Son (born in 2012, Hoi Phu ward), who has been studying the zither for 2 years, emotionally said: “During the more than 2 hours of filming, although I was tired because I had to wake up early, the moment I stood in the Great Unity Square, joining the orchestra, I was both nervous and had a memorable experience”. Meanwhile, Thai Ngoc Khanh Linh (born in 2010, Pleiku ward), although she has only been studying the violin for 2 months, expressed: “When participating in the MV celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, I felt moved and proud. For me, music is a way to spread the message of peace and love for the Fatherland of the young people of Gia Lai”.

To get a complete product, the crew also went through many difficulties. Ms. Quynh said: “Moving the zither encountered many obstacles, because most of them were children, while the zither is a rectangular block of wood about 1.3 meters long. However, with patience and team spirit, the children completed it together. At the same time, although the weather was affected by storms, it did not rain when filming at Dai Doan Ket Square, more than enough to complete the recording session.”

Due to the differences in timbre between the two instruments, there were major challenges during the recording process. “The violin has a clear, resonant sound and can produce continuous notes; while the zither is clear, intermittent, and rich in nuances thanks to the vibrato, stroking, and pressing techniques typical of traditional music. This contrast forced the crew to make many adjustments so that the violin’s sound would not overwhelm the zither, while also keeping each climax in harmony instead of being “out of tune,” said Dung.

Immediately after its release on August 30 on Facebook, Youtube and Tik Tok, the MV received a number of positive responses such as: "The combination of violin and zither in the concerto Continue the story of peace is extremely meaningful"; "Joining the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the great national holiday, this is a passionate performance, delicately combined with the profound sound of the zither",....

Although the budget was limited at only 7 million VND, the value was priceless because it was a musical moment connecting tradition with modernity, instilling in people's hearts faith in the next generation.

From the small hands on the strings of the zither, from the clumsy violin bows, the MV "Continuing the story of peace" has created a scene of the young generation of Gia Lai joining the beat of the country in the sacred atmosphere of National Day September 2.
