Match review
Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League table with 67 points from 34 games. The Gunners are still not certain of a place in the 2025/26 Champions League, and are one of the teams with the most draws in the league (13), second only to Everton (14). Notably, nine of those draws have come when they were leading - a disappointing statistic.
In the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against PSG in midweek, the Gunners almost fell victim once again. But Mikel Merino’s equaliser was ruled out for offside, after Ousmane Dembele had scored an early opener for the French side.
All eyes are now on Paris, with Arsenal facing a tough task of making a comeback in the middle of next week. However, the Gunners must beat Bournemouth if they do not want their rivals to close the gap in the race for the top two.
Bournemouth also had a disappointing match when hosting MU. Although Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring with a powerful shot, coach Andoni Iraola's team was equalized in the 90+6 minute by Rasmus Hojlund.
Evanilson had been sent off for a foul on Noussair Mazraoui, but VAR intervened and referee Peter Bankes overturned the red card. Despite a successful appeal, Bournemouth have still drawn three of their last four games.
Bournemouth are currently in 10th place with 50 points, 1 point behind Fulham in 8th place and Aston Villa in 7th place. If Man City win the FA Cup, 8th place in the Premier League will qualify for the Europa Conference League next season, and the Top 8 is Bournemouth's goal for the rest of the season.
Form, head-to-head history
Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last weekend extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight. The hosts are unbeaten in their last 18 games against teams in the top half of the table, with half of those games ending in draws.
In the past, Bournemouth has traveled to Emirates 8 times and lost all of them. Their form is also not really impressive with only 1 win in the last 8 matches.
Force information
Arsenal will be without Kai Havertz, Jorginho, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Riccardo Calafiori due to injury. Neto will also be absent as he is on the payroll of Bournemouth and will not be able to play against his parent club.
Bournemouth were given good news as Evanilson had his red card overturned and is fit to play. They can also welcome Luis Sinisterra back from a hamstring injury. However, Enes Unal and Ryan Christie are out for the rest of the season.
Arsenal : Raya; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko; Ødegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard
Bournemouth : Kepa; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Adams, Cook; Semenyo, Kluivert, Ouattara; Evanilson
Score prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Bournemouth
