AI has just reconstructed Xi Shi's beauty based on ancient paintings and historical documents, creating an image completely different from what has long been imagined. The AI version draws a Xi Thi with pale skin, thin lips, sad eyes and a face lacking in spirit.
Many people commented that she looked more like a "sick rich lady" than the number one beauty of ancient times. The audience was disappointed that Xi Shi in the legend of "sinking fish and falling geese" appeared so blandly.
Even though AI is good at technology, it cannot convey the "soul" of a beauty such as eyes, temperament or emotions. On screen, many actresses who played Xi Shi left a stronger impression than the mechanical reconstruction.
Tuong Can Can, Truong Man and Phung Buu Buu all have their own style that makes the characters come alive. After all, beauty is emotion, and perhaps only art is capable of recreating an icon like Xi Shi.
