According to his family, he had symptoms of phimosis but was afraid to share. While trying to treat it at home, he tried to pull the foreskin down incorrectly, causing injury and local blood congestion.
Because of shame, I did not tell the adults and tried to endure the first day. On the second day, the pain increased and my private area was red and swollen, so my family discovered it and took me to the hospital.
Fortunately, the patient was promptly intervened by doctors, releasing the constricted area, helping to restore circulation and reduce the risk of necrosis. Currently, the patient's health is stable, with no serious sequelae.
According to doctors, phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin cannot be pulled back from the tip of the penis, often occurring in young children and lasting until puberty. If not treated properly, it can cause infection, difficulty urinating, and even the risk of penile cancer later on.
Phimosis is a particularly dangerous complication because the foreskin cannot return to its original position, causing the glans penis to tighten, obstructing blood circulation and possibly causing necrosis if not treated promptly.
Currently, circumcision is a simple, safe procedure, performed quickly in about 20 - 30 minutes under local anesthesia. Patients can go home the same day and recover after about 1 - 2 weeks.
Doctors at the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital recommend that men in puberty should pay attention to their reproductive health and should not self-treat any abnormalities in their private areas. Parents should also pay attention and instruct their children on proper hygiene and take them to the doctor early if they detect any abnormalities to avoid unfortunate consequences.
