'Unique' in the West: Teachers persistently support exam season for 30 years

During the 35-year journey of establishment, generations of teachers of Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary and High School (Can Tho City) have maintained the exam support activities for nearly 30 years.

For nearly 30 years, every high school graduation exam season, teachers at Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary and High School (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City ) have supported and inspired students before entering the exam room. This is a meaningful tradition of the school that is more than 35 years old.

At the exam site of Doan Thi Diem Secondary School (Ninh Kieu District), on the morning of June 26, dozens of teachers from Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School - High School were present before 6 o'clock. Not only did they instruct and encourage students to be calm and confident when taking the exam, the teachers also helped keep their belongings, phones, and backpacks for the students.

When the candidates entered the exam room, many teachers lingered outside, quietly waiting with eyes full of expectation. "We want to be the spiritual support for the students during one of the most important moments in their student life," a teacher shared while checking the list of students taking the exam.

Mr. Pham Quang Dinh, Vice Principal of Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary and High School, said that in the 35 years since its establishment, the school has maintained the exam support activities for 30 years. "This is not only a matter of concern, but also a part of the school's culture. Teachers always accompany students until the last minute of the exam," said Mr. Dinh.

According to Mr. Dinh, the school has organized review sessions for students throughout the school year, each semester has 10 weeks of intensive review to consolidate knowledge.

On the first day of the 2025 high school graduation exam, Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary and High School had more than 290 students participating, all of whom arrived on time, none of whom were absent. For students who live far away, the school also arranged lunch and a place to rest right at school so that they could have the best conditions to prepare for the afternoon exam. After each exam, teachers continued to accompany, pick up students and promptly answer questions related to the exam.
