In the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, Gia Lai province has more than 16,200 candidates registered for the exam, including 15,502 grade 12 candidates, 704 independent candidates, the whole province has 42 exam sites with 718 exam rooms.
Nguyen Du Secondary School (Pleiku City, Gia Lai) is the testing site with the largest number of independent candidates in the province.
This is also the test site reserved for candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program. According to the reporter's records, this test site has many special candidates, who are preschool teachers who graduated from the 9+3 system, determined to pass the graduation exam to supplement their qualifications.
Nguyen Du Secondary School has the most independent candidates in Gia Lai.
Because her house is 150km away from the exam site, Ms. Kpa H'Truy (born in 1982, a Jrai female teacher from Krong Pa district, Gia Lai) and her colleague Ms. Nay H'Duyen (47 years old, teacher at Ia RMok Kindergarten, Krong Pa district) arrived in Pleiku one day in advance to arrange accommodation and consolidate their knowledge.
Accordingly, because she previously graduated from the 9+3 intermediate teacher training program, Ms. Kpa H'Truy did not have a high school diploma. To standardize her diploma, for many years now, she and a number of teachers in the school have registered to take supplementary classes at the Krong Pa District ContinuingEducation Center. In 2024, she registered to take the high school graduation exam but failed, so this year she decided to retake the exam. In this exam, Ms. Kpa H'Truy registered for 4 subjects: Literature, Math, History and Geography.
Female teacher Kpa H'Truy is happy to have completed the first exam subject in the high school graduation exam well.
Commenting on the Literature exam this morning, Ms. Kpa H'Truy said: "Although I spent the maximum amount of time reviewing and supplementing my knowledge for this exam, the curriculum is now very different, so taking the exam is difficult. However, the Literature exam has been renewed, the materials are open, and it is not memorization-oriented, so it is easier to breathe."
Similar to the two female teachers of Ia Rmok Kindergarten, Ms. Ksor H'Nhin (born in 1982, a preschool teacher in Ia Mlah commune, Krong Pa district) also traveled hundreds of kilometers to Nguyen Du Secondary School to take the 2025 high school graduation exam. Previously, in 2024, Ms. H'Nhin took the high school graduation exam but failed, so this year she was determined to review for the exam again.
"Previously, I studied in the 9+3 system, then registered to study intermediate and college at Gia Lai Pedagogical College and Hanoi Pedagogical University via distance learning. To consolidate my knowledge, I stayed up many nights to review before the exam. However, because the amount of knowledge was vast and I was also old, I had difficulty remembering. This morning, I was able to do the test so I felt quite comfortable," said Ksor H'Nhin.
Female teacher Kpa Koa (born in 1986, residing in Dat Bang commune, Krong Pa district) is more worried than her colleagues because this is the first year she takes the high school graduation exam. Before the exam day, she asked for a week off to focus on reviewing and consolidating her knowledge.
The 2025 high school graduation exam has many innovations in content and organization methods, the number of candidates in Gia Lai province has also increased to 968 candidates compared to 2024. In particular, this year is the first time the exam is organized for students studying the 2018 General Education Program and the 2006 General Education Program, so Gia Lai province has carefully prepared in all aspects, ready with plans for the exam to take place safely and in accordance with regulations.
