Dong Thap tourism development plan for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050

Dong Thap Provincial People's Council has approved Resolution No. 61/NQ-HDND on the Tourism Development Plan in Dong Thap Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The tourism development plan in Dong Thap province's planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, is divided into 3 stages including 2025, 2030 and 2050.

Dong Thap issued a Resolution approving the Tourism Development Plan in the provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Specifically, by 2025, strive to make Dong Thap Tourism one of the attractive destinations in the Mekong Delta region. Gradually shape and develop Dong Thap Tourism with unique cultural features and advantages, creating a distinct Dong Thap tourism picture, not overlapping with other localities in the region.

By 2030, strive to develop Dong Thap Tourism sustainably, truly becoming an important economic sector of the Province, affirming the tourism brand, local image, making important contributions to economic restructuring; develop tourism in a professional, modern, competitive direction, ensuring quality and efficiency, contributing to economic restructuring, creating jobs and improving people's lives.

By 2050, Dong Thap province will become an attractive destination in the Mekong Delta; with modern and smart urban and rural infrastructure. Tourism development will be based on taking advantage of opportunities from the integration process and the development of the knowledge economy, applying 4.0 technology.

Tourism development becomes one of the driving forces in economic development, while also creating jobs and increasing people's income. Closely combining tourism development with ensuring social security, protecting the environment, and being able to respond to and minimize the impact of climate change.

The Provincial People's Council assigned the Provincial People's Committee to organize the implementation of the Resolution on the Tourism Development Plan in the planning of Dong Thap province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; Adjust the names and places of localities, the names of agencies and units to suit their functions and tasks after rearranging and perfecting the organizational apparatus of Dong Thap province; report to the Provincial People's Council at the nearest session.

The Resolution clearly states that, in the process of implementing the plan, effective solutions must be proposed and actively strived to achieve specific development goals and targets of the industry by 2030, ensuring that by 2025, economic growth will reach 8% or more, double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period, and according to the growth scenario for the following period of the Document of the 12th Provincial Party Congress.

The Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Committees of the People's Council, the People's Council Delegation Groups and the Provincial People's Council delegates shall supervise the implementation of this Resolution.
