At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 60-year tradition of building, fighting and growing up of Regiment 282. Over the past 60 years, officers and soldiers of the Regiment have always upheld the spirit of overcoming all difficulties, the indomitable will to fight, the willingness to sacrifice for the revolutionary cause, and the excellent completion of all assigned tasks.

During the resistance wars, the entire Regiment directly fought in 4,419 battles, shot down more than 100 American and puppet aircraft, and was honored by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. The Regiment was awarded 4 Military Exploit Medals (First, Second, Third Class), 156 Military Exploit Medals, and thousands of medals of various types for collectives and individuals.

To successfully complete the tasks in the new period, the Political Commissar of the Air Defense - Air Force Service requested the leaders, commanders and officers of the Regiment to regularly take care of building a strong and comprehensive "exemplary and typical" Regiment, perfecting the people's air defense posture, a solid people's security posture, suitable to the characteristics and tasks; actively organizing training to improve the technical and tactical level of officers and soldiers; promoting the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, "Excellent Air Defense - Air Force soldiers" in the new period.

On behalf of the officers and soldiers of Regiment 282, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Hoan, Political Commissar of the Regiment respectfully expressed gratitude for the veterans' blood and bones sacrifices throughout the revolutionary journey.
