Dr. Ton That Toan - Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control said: From the beginning of the year, the center has developed and implemented a plan to prevent and control infectious diseases, vaccinate children of the age for expanded immunization, and a measles vaccination campaign. At the same time, it has developed plans to monitor and support the prevention and control of dengue fever, malaria, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles, respiratory diseases, and vaccination; received and distributed vaccines, supplies, chemicals, and drugs to prevent and control epidemics to units to ensure timely epidemic handling. The center also provided training on infectious disease prevention and control for medical staff ; coordinated and promptly implemented the work of identifying and handling outbreaks...
Although the provincial health sector has drastically implemented solutions, the current situation of infectious diseases entering, emerging and re-emerging and unpredictable developments in other countries and some provinces and cities in the country; erratic weather conditions... increase the risk of the emergence and spread of common infectious diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles, malaria, which are likely to break out in the coming time. "To minimize the number of cases, along with drastic measures of the provincial health sector, medical centers, commune and ward health stations need to promote extensive propaganda on disease prevention and control, especially circulating infectious diseases; actively monitor cases of infectious diseases causing epidemics at all levels in the direction of early detection and proactive prevention and control, not letting epidemics occur; fully update cases on the software for the whole sector to monitor and follow up..." - said Dr. Ton That Toan.
In the last months of the year, the Provincial Center for Disease Control will continue to implement disease prevention and control measures, focusing on monitoring and early detection of cases, investigating and handling outbreaks. At the same time, it will support localities in disease prevention and control; maintain expanded vaccination work, receive and distribute vaccines, equipment and supplies for disease prevention to units; and communicate to people about infectious disease prevention and control. People also need to proactively coordinate with the provincial health sector to implement disease prevention measures as recommended, thereby limiting the situation of overlapping diseases, protecting the health of themselves and their families.
