Following that mark, the Vietnam Institute for Education and Culture Development in collaboration with the Department of Performing Arts - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially launched the 2026 season with the theme "Spreading emotions - Connecting passion", promising to bring many new experiences, both encouraging creativity and creating international integration opportunities for the young generation of artists.
Since its first event in 2024, the National Piano Talent Festival has quickly become a meeting point that many students and parents look forward to. In just two seasons, 2024 and 2025, the Organizing Committee has received nearly 2,000 applications each year. Many high-ranking contestants have had the opportunity to perform in the Piano Talent mini concert series organized by the Institute, and have been admitted to leading art schools such as the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Central University of Art Education or the Hanoi College of Art.
Sharing about the competition, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Head of the Organizing Committee, President of the Vietnam Institute for Education and Cultural Development affirmed: "The Piano Talent Festival is not simply a music competition, but also a journey to honor the talent, passion and constant efforts of those who love art. Through each season, we hope that the Festival will become a bridge, connecting generations of young artists and spreading the humanistic values of music - a language without borders, which can touch the heart and nurture the soul of every human being".
Entering the 2026 season, the National Piano Talent Festival has many new turning points. For the first time, the competition has received official support from the Department of Performing Arts - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, contributing to enhancing prestige and professional quality. The age of participants has also been expanded from 5 to 25 years old, divided into 15 groups with three categories: Freestyle, Classic and Artist.
In particular, the Organizing Committee has expanded international cooperation, when the best candidates will be selected to join the Vietnam Piano Talent Team to participate in the final round of the PIARA International Piano Competition in Japan in July 2026. This is a valuable opportunity for young Vietnamese talents to compete, learn and assert themselves on the international stage.

In addition, all contestants participating in the national final round will receive the PIARA international certificate recognized by the Japan Assessment Association, as a testament to their efforts and achievements.
The structure of the new season is also more tightly organized and professional. The Talent Search round takes place online from January 1 to 31, 2026, followed by the Shining round held live in three regions: North, Central, and South in March. The final round and the Gala Awards Night are scheduled to take place on March 28 and 29, 2026 at the Concert Hall of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hanoi. After finding the best faces, the Vietnamese representative team will leave for the PIARA international final in Japan in July 2026.
The jury of the 2026 National Piano Talent Festival gathers many prestigious artists and teachers in the field of music, from professors, doctors, people's artists, meritorious artists to international artists. They are all people with many years of experience in teaching and performing, committed to bringing fairness, objectivity and high expertise to each competition.
With an increasingly expanding scale, the support of professional agencies and a clear internationalization orientation, the 2026 National Piano Talent Festival is not only a playground for young talents but also a place to nurture passion, encourage creativity and affirm the position of Vietnamese music on the world map.
