Galatasaray came back into the second half with Michy Batshuayi scoring with his first touch in the 66th minute and he equalised for the visitors six minutes later. The hosts were awarded a penalty in the 86th minute after Bardakcı's handball, which Ugrinic converted to seal a 3-2 win for the hosts.

Sparta Prague also put one foot in the group stages of this season's UEFA Champions League with a 2-0 win over Malmo. An own goal from Jens Stryger Larsen and an 88th-minute strike from Matej Rynes gave the Czech side a huge advantage heading into the second leg.
Slovan Bratislava leveled the score with Midtjylland as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. After taking a one-goal lead in the 59th minute, Slovan took the initiative to defend deep to preserve the score.
However, Midtjylland found a late equalizer in the 79th minute, thereby extending their unbeaten home record in European competition to six matches.

Bodo Glimt also have a slim advantage in the second leg of the play-off after winning 2-1 at home to Crvena Zvezda in the first leg. This was the club's eighth win in their last 10 home games in European competition. In their three wins this season, Bodø/Glimt have scored a total of 10 goals.
The second leg of the 2024-2025 Champions League play-off round will take place on August 28 and 29. The group stage draw will take place at 23:00 on August 31 in Monaco.
