Bustling import and export activities at Dong Nai border gate

(DN) - There are currently 4 border gates between Dong Nai province and the Kingdom of Cambodia, including: Hoa Lu International Border Gate, Loc Thinh National Border Gate, Hoang Dieu National Border Gate and Tan Tien Secondary Border Gate with the same opening. These are favorable conditions for Dong Nai to develop bilateral economic and trade cooperation, gradually forming international logistics and goods transit centers and cross-border economic and trade zones.

One month after the new Dong Nai province came into operation, goods cleared through the province's border gates were bustling, promoting the expansion of import and export markets, contributing to the development of production in the province.

Fast and convenient customs clearance

With the spirit of "not interrupting economic and trade activities", the border gates in the border area of ​​Dong Nai province are bustling and vibrant. Trucks and cargo containers are cleared one after another, distributed to all over the country and serve the export market.

At Hoa Lu International Border Gate, on average, about 200 cargo vehicles clear customs every day. Businesses are given the most favorable conditions with customs clearance time of only 3-5 minutes per vehicle.

“We work closely with the border guards at the border gate to resolve the issue quickly, creating the most favorable conditions for vehicles to clear customs quickly. During peak times, we will arrange waiting areas for vehicles in a reasonable and scientific manner, to avoid congestion,” said Mr. Hoang Truong Huong, Deputy Head of the Hoa Lu International Border Gate Customs Department, Region XVIII Customs Branch of Dong Nai Province.

Vietnam's exports through Hoa Lu International Border Gate are mainly agricultural products, cement and electronic components, while the neighboring country strongly exports forestry products, beverages and dried food to border gates in Dong Nai province.

According to Mr. Dara Sivyong, representative of Droppii Trading Company in Cambodia, the company is accelerating two-way goods exchange with Vietnam to reduce logistics costs and increase revenue. In addition to electronic equipment and auxiliary components, deeply processed agricultural products from Vietnam are the most imported by Cambodian enterprises.

Promoting the implementation of digital border gates

Implementing the Smart Border Gate Project, the Customs Branch of Region XVIII, Dong Nai province is making efforts to apply solutions to realize the policy of the Vietnam Customs sector on building a digital border gate model based on information technology platform.

At Hoa Lu International Border Gate, vehicles entering the border gate area will be guided to declare on the digital border gate software system. All information will be transferred to the functional force's working positions to carry out the next steps. The Customs Department will confirm that the imported and exported goods are eligible for customs clearance as soon as the functional agencies have completed the inspection and supervision process.

Mr. Hoang Truong Huong, Deputy Head of the Hoa Lu International Border Gate Customs Team, Customs Branch of Region XVIII, Dong Nai Province, affirmed: The implementation of the project to use the digital border gate platform in managing and operating the import and export of goods and means of entry and exit in border provinces will help to make information on administrative procedures transparent, creating more favorable conditions for businesses.

However, it is necessary to clearly define each type of import - export or transshipment vehicle.
