This afternoon (June 26), the Admissions Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) announced the conditional admission cutoff scores for early admission methods in 2023.

Specifically, the school announced the admission scores for the following methods: Method 1.2 prioritizes direct admission for the best high school students in 2023; Method 2 prioritizes admission according to the regulations of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Method 4 is based on the results of the aptitude test organized by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2023; Method 5.1 prioritizes admission for students who are members of the provincial/city team participating in the national excellent student competition or who won first, second, or third prize in the provincial/city excellent student competition; Method 5.3 is based on high school academic results for candidates with outstanding achievements, especially in social activities, arts, and sports .
Accordingly, the admission cutoff scores for the priority admission method as regulated by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City range from 24 to 28.45 points. Among these, the group of majors with scores of 27 or higher includes: Multimedia Communication (28.45 points); Journalism (standard and high-quality programs both 28.4 points); Psychology (28.2 points); International Relations (standard and high-quality programs both 27.7 points); Tourism and Travel Service Management (standard program 27.3 points, high-quality program 26.8 points); English Language (standard program 27.2 points, high-quality program 27 points).
For the admission method based on the results of the competency assessment exam, the cutoff scores for this method range from 610 to 910 points. Accordingly, the major with the highest cutoff score is Multimedia Communication with 910 points. The remaining majors with cutoff scores of 800 or higher include: Psychology (855 points); English Language (standard program 850 points, high-quality program 830 points); International Relations (standard program 840 points, high-quality program 835 points); Journalism (standard program 835 points, high-quality program 820 points); Chinese Language (standard program 800 points).

According to Mr. Tran Nam, Head of the School's Communications and Corporate Relations Department, "In 2023, the school will recruit 3,599 students for 34 training programs under two programs: standard and high-quality. Statistics show that the number of applications in the first round of 2023 was significantly lower than in 2022. Therefore, there are still many opportunities for candidates applying using their high school graduation exam scores in 2023."
Mr. Nam further noted that candidates who are eligible for admission to the university's programs through the early admission method (without considering the high school graduation requirement) need to continue following the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training. Specifically, candidates register for admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's general system from July 10th to 5 PM on July 30th. If the candidate decides to study at the university, they should place the eligible program first (first choice). In case they have not decided to enroll, candidates can continue to register their preferences using their 2023 high school graduation exam results to participate in the general admission round. This means the candidate will no longer be on the list of eligible candidates.
Under method 4 (code 401), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, will conduct post-verification of priority areas and priority groups and handle matters according to the admission regulations. In case adjustments to priority are needed, candidates should contact the university before 5 PM on July 7th.
