Many artists like pho second only to rice.

One of the highlights of Pho Day, held on December 13th and 14th in Ho Chi Minh City, is the two nights of music featuring many currently popular singers.

Party hard with the guys, pretty girls!

Rap Viet Season 4 (2024) helped Nhat Hoang (real name Nguyen Dac Nhat Hoang, born in 1999) rise to fame thanks to his boyish looks, gentle personality, and profound rap songs that touch the hearts of listeners.

The song "Anh đã làm gì đâu" (What Did I Do?) by Nhật Hoàng, a collaboration with singer Thùy Chi, has become a sensation, reaching 20 million views on the Vie Channel YouTube channel alone after just one year. Many viewers shared that simply hearing the line "See, you did it!" made them spontaneously cry because the song seemed to express their own feelings. At the first night of Pho Day (December 13th), Nhật Hoàng will perform two songs: "Drinking by Mistake" and "You're Beautiful, It's My Fault."

Danmy – a girl with a pretty face and explosive energy on stage – has gradually become a familiar name after participating in Rap Viet Season 4 and Em xinh say hi Season 1. Danmy, whose real name is Nguyen Thuy Dung, was born in 2003 and is considered a versatile young artist who is good at rapping, singing, and dancing, showing great promise.

At Pho Day, Danmy will perform a cover of her rap song "Xả Vibers" - the performance that helped her defeat V# at Rap Viet - and her new self-composed song "Come with me".

On the second day (December 14th), Pho Day was the stage for "quiet and beautiful" Hoang Duyen and rapper MANBO.

Hoang Duyen (born in 1999, real name Hoang Thi My Duyen) rose to prominence with the songs "The Boy in the Pink Shirt" and "Saigon, So Heartbreaking." The young singer won the Best New Asian Artist award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2021 and was nominated for Best New Face at the Green Wave Awards.

Participating in the first season of "Em xinh say hi," Hoang Duyen impressed with her gentle and calm image, a complete contrast to the show's atmosphere. She was eliminated in episode 5, much to everyone's regret. At "Ngày của phở" (Pho Day), Hoang Duyen performed two new songs: "She never cries," released in July and currently boasting 6.8 million views on YouTube, and "Con chuồn chuồn" (Dragonfly), released on December 11th.

MANBO is a founding member of the group GERDNANG. He has a more "quiet" style than his teammates HIEUTHUHAI, HURRYKNG, and Negav, but his rap skills are in no way inferior. He previously won third place overall in Rap Viet Season 4.

On the night of December 14th, Manbo will liven up the Pho Day stage with two big hits: "The Journey That Never Stops" - previously popular on Rap Viet, and "See You Under the Moonlight," a song that made GERDNANG famous.

Singer Quoc Dai

Pho and banh mi are Quoc Dai's two favorite dishes. He usually eats pho for breakfast and can eat it many days a week.

Quoc Dai's favorite is rare beef pho with brisket and beef meatballs in the style of Northern Vietnamese pho, but he prefers to eat pho with vegetables, and he always asks for extra vegetables every time he eats it.

"When Dai performs abroad, fans often invite him to Vietnamese food courts, where pho is always available."

"In European countries, America, Australia... people cook pho with authentic traditional flavors, and many restaurants even offer something more special than in Vietnam," Quoc Dai revealed.

Quoc Dai further shared that artists are always grateful to their audience, so they must regularly release new products to show their appreciation. From now until Tet (Lunar New Year), Quoc Dai will release many new songs with folk and lyrical influences to give music lovers more choices.

Duyen Quynh: I love both beef pho and chicken pho.

Singer Duyen Quynh

Duyen Quynh has just been nominated by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union for the title of Outstanding Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025.

Singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh shared with Tuoi Tre newspaper that she could eat pho for four days in a row because it is one of her favorite dishes, both beef and chicken pho.

Singer Quynh, known for her song "Continuing the Story of Peace, " shared: "Pho is a very familiar dish and deeply rooted in traditional Vietnamese culinary culture, so whenever I have the opportunity to meet international friends, I will share and introduce Vietnamese cuisine, especially pho."

In addition, Quynh often shares recommendations for delicious pho restaurants on her personal page.

Duong Quoc Hung: Pho is my favorite after rice.

Singer Duong Quoc Hung

Singer Duong Quoc Hung shared that he eats pho quite often, and it's also the dish he eats most frequently after rice.

If he ate pho continuously, Duong Quoc Hung could eat it almost every day of the week. He recounted a period when he ate pho for 5 or 6 consecutive days and still found it delicious, because each restaurant offered a different flavor and experience.

"In Ho Chi Minh City, I've visited almost all the pho restaurants in District 1 and District 3 (formerly) because each place has its own unique flavor."

Changing restaurants also helps me maintain my interest, like a small culinary exploration journey of my own. Among the choices, my favorite is still Hanoi beef pho - a rich flavor that evokes many familiar feelings of home," said Duong Quoc Hung.

Quoc Hung also said that if there's any pho restaurant he's ever eaten at and wants to return to, it's Pho Bat Dan ( Hanoi ): "The first time a friend took me there, I had to queue and carry my own hot bowl of pho to the table - a very interesting experience. The flavor there is rich, fragrant, and truly different from many other pho restaurants."

When performing abroad, every time Hung sees a pho sign, he goes in to eat. Pho is the dish that makes Hung feel most comfortable and at ease when he's far from home. Because it's also the taste of his homeland, if you ask if the first thing Hung wants to eat when he's away is pho, the answer is definitely yes.

Minh Hoang: I could eat pho for 5 days straight.

Singer Minh Hoang

Runner-up of the Idol Singer competition, Minh Hoang, said he always prioritizes pho on the menu, especially beef pho.

"The pho I usually order has beef brisket and tendon, and sometimes it comes with an extra bowl of egg. I can eat pho five days a week. On the other two days, I eat other dishes because besides pho, which is the best dish, Vietnam has many other delicious dishes that you can't miss," Minh Hoang said enthusiastically.

He said that when he performs in different localities, he often looks for pho restaurants to explore the flavors of each region because each place has its own secret recipe and cooking method, but still retains the essence of pho.

On Pho Day, Minh Hoang will perform the song "A Thousand Dreams of Vietnam," composed by musician Nguyen Hong Thuan. The song's message inspires young people to strive for a civilized and strong Vietnam on the international stage.

The 9th annual Pho Day program, themed "Elevating Vietnamese Rice - Spreading Across Five Continents," will take place on December 13th and 14th at the former Tax Department Store, 135 Nguyen Hue Street, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program features nearly 30 famous and unique pho brands from North to South Vietnam, showcasing a diverse range of pho dishes reflecting the characteristics of different regions and local cultures.

At a price of 40,000 VND per bowl, the Pho Day festival on December 12, 2025, is expected to serve more than 20,000 servings over two days. The organizers will donate at least 10% of the pho sales revenue to the "Pho of Love" program, cooking and serving pho to people in the flood-stricken areas of Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen) who recently suffered damage from natural disasters.

The Pho Day program on December 12th is supported and coordinated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Trade Promotion Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, and the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, with the diamond partnership of Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company for many years, and this year with the additional support of Ho Chi Minh City Development Commercial Bank (HDBank), Cholimex Food Joint Stock Company, Saigon Trading Corporation Limited (SATRA), Suntory Pepsico Beverage Company Limited, etc.
