Tuition fees for the National Economics University in the 2025-2026 academic year range from 18-25 million VND. This tuition fee is an increase of 2-3 million VND compared to last year. In the 2024-2025 academic year, tuition fees for standard programs according to each major/study program of the school range from 16-22 million VND/academic year.

According to the 2025 enrollment plan of the University of Commerce, the tuition fee for the 2025-2026 school year ranges from 2.4-2.79 million VND/month, equivalent to 24-27.9 million VND/school year (10 months) for standard training programs; 3.85 million VND/month, equivalent to 38.5 million VND/school year (10 months) for international professional orientation training programs (IPOP).

Both of these training program groups have seen tuition fees increase compared to the previous school year. Specifically, the standard program increased from 25-26.5 million VND to 26.5-28 million VND/school year. Meanwhile, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school's international joint programs have tuition fees ranging from 37-60 million VND.

Some universities in the South also announced tuition increases for the 2025-2026 school year. Specifically, the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has the lowest tuition fee of 30 million VND/year, applied to training programs of the standard system, the talent system and the high-quality Vietnamese-French engineer system.

The tuition fees for 4-year programs range from 92-129 million VND/course, while the tuition fees for 4.5-year programs range from 150-167 million VND/course. The school representative said that the new tuition fees only apply to the 2025 enrollment period and depend on the financial autonomy project, which is currently awaiting approval from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Ho Chi Minh City Open University also plans to increase by 1.5-2 million VND/year depending on the major.

According to many university leaders, this tuition fee increase is in line with the roadmap for implementing Decree 81/CP and Decree 97/CP of the Government on the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees. In addition, increasing tuition fees is also considered a solution for schools to have more resources to invest in modern facilities, improve the quality of teaching staff and innovate training programs, especially in the context that many schools are moving towards financial autonomy.
