Many military schools reduce military quotas

Schools note to candidates, the school only considers candidates who meet the preliminary requirements and standards according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense . Candidates are required to make their first choice when applying to military schools.

20 military schools reduce nearly 1,000 quotas

On March 18, the Military Admissions Board, Ministry of National Defense announced the enrollment quotas of 20 military schools, many of which reduced their quotas compared to last year.

Specifically, in 2025, the Military Technical Academy was assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to recruit 360 military students (180 fewer than last year), Army Officer School 2 recruited 493 male students (39 fewer), Engineering Officer School recruited 196 male students (55 fewer), and Information Officer School recruited 318 male students (23 fewer).

The Academy of Military Sciences was assigned to recruit 80 military students into 5 training majors, a 10% decrease compared to last year. The Political Officer School recruited 766 military students (male candidates nationwide), an increase of 20% compared to last year.

Army Officer School 1 was assigned to recruit 490 military students with male candidates from the Northern region (from Quang Tri and above), a decrease of 196 quotas compared to last year.

In 2025, The Logistics Academy recruits 94 military students, a decrease of 84 students compared to last year. Of which, the academy reserves 90 enrollment quotas for male students (54 male students in the North, 36 male students in the South), and 4 enrollment quotas for female students (2 female students in the North, 2 female students in the South).

7 military school admission combinations

At the 2025 Admissions and Career Guidance Consultation Day organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in coordination with other units at Hanoi University of Science and Technology on March 16, Colonel Do Thanh Tam - Secretary of the Military Admissions Board, Ministry of National Defense - said that this year, 10 military schools will recruit about 3,500 civilian training students after 6 years of suspending enrollment for this system.

Candidates for civil service entrance exam do not need to go through the preliminary round.

For the military system, candidates must pass a preliminary selection at the military command of the district, town, city where they register their permanent residence. The preliminary selection period is expected to be from March 25 to May 20.

In 2025, military schools will continue to recruit students using 7 groups, including A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), B00 (math, chemistry, biology), C00 (literature, history, geography), D01 (math, literature, English), D02 (math, literature, Russian), D04 (math, literature, Chinese).
