From mountain villages to lowland hamlets, the movement to build bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas is transforming the appearance of many rural regions. Well-maintained roads lined with neatly cared-for trees and ornamental plants, along with sparkling streetlights at night, create a peaceful, elegant atmosphere and provide a sense of security for residents.

These days, visiting Tinh Thon 1 village in Xuan Hoa commune, we are impressed by the well-maintained and clean village roads and alleys. Along both sides of the road, interspersed among the green trees, are pots of bougainvillea and roses blooming in vibrant colors. In particular, many walls in the village have been "dressed up" with murals and stone wall paintings, creating a fresh and radiant rural landscape.

Ms. Do Thi Hai, Party Secretary and Head of Tinh Thon 1 village, said: In 2020, the village was honored to be selected by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee as a pilot area for building a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential area. To create consensus among the people, the Party Committee and the village's Fatherland Front working committee persistently went "door to door" to propagate and mobilize people to understand the purpose and significance of the model. At the same time, the members of the model's management board also upheld the spirit of exemplary conduct, directly participating in activities such as cleaning up the environment, collecting waste, planting flowers and ornamental plants...

Thanks to the effective implementation of the motto "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, and the people benefit," the model has received the support and participation of the people in contributing labor and resources to install street lighting; install 16 cameras on main roads; paint 40 murals and 3 stone wall paintings with landscape and human themes; and plant 300 potted flowers and ornamental plants, creating an increasingly vibrant living space in the village. In particular, after the implementation of the model, the people's awareness of environmental hygiene has significantly improved, eliminating the dumping of garbage and livestock waste into the environment. Every day, people consciously maintain clean homes and alleys, and diligently collect waste, contributing to beautifying the landscape and improving the quality of life.

Mr. Le Van Tap, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Xuan Hoa commune, said: To maintain and develop the model of bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has established a steering committee and assigned specific tasks to each member. To date, all 27 residential areas in the commune have effectively implemented the model through many practical actions such as: organizing general environmental sanitation on weekends; installing streetlights on 100% of roads; planting flowers and ornamental trees; building self-governing models for security and order, and self-managed road sections. In 2025, no serious incidents occurred, contributing to maintaining a peaceful life for the people.

Not only in all 27 residential areas of Xuan Hoa commune, but throughout the country, from lowland villages to mountainous hamlets, the movement to build bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas is changing the face of many rural areas every day. Implemented since 2020, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee selects 5 residential areas in the province each year to serve as pilot sites for building the model of a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential area. In the selected residential areas, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of each commune has established a model management board and assigned specific tasks to each member in disseminating information, mobilizing support, and guiding households to implement the criteria; establishing self-governing groups for security and order, self-managed road sections, and implementing the contents of building a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential area.

Following the launch and subsequent dissemination of information and training, residents in the communities actively participated in regular environmental sanitation activities, organized waste collection, and planted and cared for flowers, ornamental plants, and trees in their homes and public areas. After 5 years of implementation, with the positive response of members and through various flexible and practical approaches tailored to the local situation, the Provincial Fatherland Front has built and replicated more than 190 models of bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas, and nearly 220 models of self-governing residential areas for environmental protection. Simultaneously, the Fatherland Front at all levels has done a good job of disseminating information and mobilizing people to voluntarily donate 16.5 hectares of land for the repair and construction of 1,850 km of rural roads and the construction of public welfare facilities. Self-governing groups and neighborhood groups have been established in the residential areas to ensure social safety within the community...

Thanks to the consensus and joint efforts of the people, the movement to build bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas is spreading widely and creating a positive change in many rural areas. This not only contributes to changing the appearance of the localities but also improves the quality of life for the people, aiming towards building livable urban and rural areas.
