Looking back at the term of "overcoming storms", creating a foundation for the future in the southernmost part of the country

The Executive Committee of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term took a souvenir photo at the preparatory session.

The event is of great significance, not only completing key preparations for the official session but also an opportunity for the entire Party Committee, army and people of Ca Mau to look back on the challenging but also proud 5-year journey (2020-2025), creating a solid foundation for the future in the southernmost part of the country.

From the “Digital Congress” to decisions for the future

During the preparatory session, with a high sense of responsibility, the Congress focused on implementing important contents. A special highlight is that this Congress has digitized all data, not using traditional paper documents, demonstrating a strong spirit of innovation. Delegates were instructed on the use of technology and regulations related to the "digital congress".

The Congress elected the Presidium, Secretariat and the Delegate Qualification Examination Board to run the Congress. The delegates also voted to approve the Working Regulations, Rules and Agenda of the official session. One of the meaningful activities at the preparatory session was the launching ceremony to support compatriots affected by natural disasters, demonstrating a profound spirit of mutual love and solidarity.

According to the program, the 1st Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, will officially open on the morning of October 17, at the Ca Mau Provincial Convention Center.

This is the first congress of the Provincial Party Committee after the merger of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces, marking a "new page" after 28 years of re-establishing the province, and also the first "digitalized" provincial congress in Ca Mau, aiming to effectively implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo.

With the motto "Solidarity-Democracy-Responsibility-Breakthrough-Development", the Congress will focus on summarizing the implementation of the Resolution for the 2020-2025 term, setting out directions and goals for the 2025-2030 term, and discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

One of the key contents of the Congress is to implement the Central Committee's decisions on the establishment of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee and the election of key positions, along with the Delegation to attend the National Congress.

Strong impression of the 2020-2025 term

Looking back over the past 5 years, in the context of complicated and unpredictable developments in the world and region, especially the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change, the Party Committee, government and people of Ca Mau have united, strived and achieved important and quite comprehensive achievements in all fields.

The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system is considered the most prominent mark, implemented synchronously and effectively.

The reorganization of the apparatus towards a lean, compact, and strong direction has created a "revolution", especially the merger of the two former Party Committees of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces to establish the (new) Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee is a historic step, creating a new development space.

Currently, the Provincial Party Committee has 68 Party Committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee with 1,222 grassroots Party organizations and 82,297 Party members. The work of preventing and combating corruption and waste has been vigorously promoted, thereby firmly consolidating the people's trust.

Tourism is one of the four "spearheads" in Ca Mau that is being focused on investment and development.

Overcoming difficulties, Ca Mau's economy still maintains a good growth momentum, with an average GRDP growth rate of more than 7%/year.

Economic pillars are effectively deployed. Agriculture continues to be a solid foundation, in which the aquaculture industry, especially shrimp, maintains its leading role, worthy of being the "shrimp capital of the country".

The industrial sector has recorded important progress, especially the seafood processing industry with over 80 factories, with a total designed capacity of about 500,000 tons/year; along with the gas-electricity-nitrogen industry and renewable energy. The province has completed and put into operation 16 wind power projects with a total capacity of over 870MW. The total export turnover in 5 years reached over 11.3 billion USD.

Socio-economic infrastructure has been strongly invested with many dynamic projects such as Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, upgrading Ca Mau airport, 1,200-bed general hospital... creating new momentum for development. The new rural development program has changed the face of the countryside, significantly improving people's lives.

There has also been much progress in the socio-cultural fields. The quality of education has been improved, the rate of schools meeting national standards has increased rapidly, reaching 84%. Medical capacity, especially disease prevention, has been strengthened, clearly demonstrated in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Social security work, care for policy families and poverty reduction programs have been directed strongly, helping to continuously improve the material and spiritual life of the people. In 5 years, the province has attracted 29,648,000 tourists, bringing in revenue of 30,638 billion VND.

Valuable lessons learned

The success of the 2020-2025 term has helped Ca Mau draw profound lessons, which are the guiding principles for the next period.

Firstly, building a clean and strong Party and political system is a prerequisite, in which it is especially necessary to maintain solidarity and unity and build a team of qualified and dedicated cadres.

Second, it is necessary to constantly innovate leadership methods, promote democracy, enhance the responsibility of leaders, and strongly transform to a constructive government that serves the people.

Third, ensuring harmonious and comprehensive development between inheritance and innovation; between economic growth and cultural and social development and strengthening national defense and security.

Fourth, thoroughly grasp the Party's policies and creatively apply them to practice, correctly determine the direction and goals with high political determination and decisive action.

Fifth, promote the strength of national unity, arouse the aspiration for development, always rely on the people, put the interests and lives of the people first and foremost.

The past 5 years have ended with proud achievements, a vivid proof of the solidarity and will to rise of the Party Committee and people of Ca Mau.

This is a valuable asset for Ca Mau to confidently enter the new development phase 2025-2030, realizing the goal of becoming a growth pole of the Mekong Delta region, and entering a new era of development with the whole country.
