Mr. Nguyen Cong Vien, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee informed: In the past term, the Party Committee, government and people of the 2 communes of Chieng Khuong and Muong Sai (before the merger) have united, mobilized combined strength, made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved many important results. The economy maintained a good speed, the area of grain crops by the end of 2024 reached over 2,734 hectares, the area of fruit trees was 1,244 hectares. The total retail sales of goods and revenue from social consumer services in the area reached over 170 billion VND; the poverty rate by the end of 2024 decreased to 4.65%.

Longan is the main crop of Chieng Khuong commune, with 889 hectares, this year's output reached 11,086 tons, 1.5 times higher than in 2024, the selling price is from 25,000 - 50,000 VND/kg of fresh fruit depending on the type, bringing great joy to growers. Along with selling fresh fruit, households also invested in building 242 longan drying kilns, processing nearly 8,000 tons of fresh longan fruit/year, contributing to ensuring the output of longan fruit.

Hung Loc Agricultural Service Cooperative, Tan Lap village is a pioneer in producing clean longan in Chieng Khuong, with 23 members, growing 46 hectares of organic longan, of which 6 hectares meet VietGAP standards. Mr. Tran Van Loc, Director of the Cooperative, said: This year, the Cooperative's longan output reached nearly 600 tons of fruit. Currently, early ripening longan and golden longan have been harvested with an output of 230 tons, with a selling price of 30,000 - 50,000 VND/kg. 100% of the Cooperative's longan area has invested in an irrigation system; using organic fertilizers and biological pesticides, so the products are trusted by customers. The economy is developing, people's lives are increasingly stable and improved, there are conditions to contribute to the construction of new rural areas, with the motto "People do, the state supports". Mr. Tran Quang Luc, Party cell secretary, Head of Hung Ha village, informed: The village has 153 households with 686 people, building new rural areas, the village has mobilized people to donate 3,556 m2 of land; 60 fruit trees and hundreds of working days to expand 15 internal roads, with a total length of more than 3.1 km, the total value of people's contributions is over 650 million VND; installed 81 solar lights and 22 grid lights on internal roads. Up to now, 100% of the alleys have been lit.
