Recently, the group LE SSERAFIM has returned with the mini album "Crazy" with the title song of the same name.
The music video for “Crazy” and its accompanying music video received positive responses from fans. The “Crazy” music video surpassed 15 million views in just over a day of its release and ranked 34th on the MelOn chart. However, the group’s album sales have seen a significant decline.
The sales decline of “Crazy” is evident when compared to the group’s previous albums. LE SSERAFIM’s previous albums saw a steady increase in sales, with their debut album “Fearless” selling 176,861 copies. It was followed by “Antifragile” which sold 408,833 copies and “UnForgiven” which peaked at 1,024,034 copies.
The follow-up album "Easy" did not surpass "UnForgiven" but still sold 783,358 copies. However, according to statistics, "Crazy" only sold 195,264 copies on its first day, 25% less than the first day sales of its previous release.
The drop has left the group's audience concerned. Some fans speculate that the drop in sales may have been due to a technical issue with Hanteo, the chart responsible for tracking album sales. The chart was frozen for more than six hours, which could have affected the numbers.
Some others have suggested that shipping delays may have been a factor, as a significant drop in sales is unusual for a popular group like LE SSERAFIM.
Additionally, there are also opinions that the previous live performances of LE SSERAFIM members, especially at the Coachella Music Festival and the live encore performance of the song "Easy", have turned many fans away. These performances have caused LE SSERAFIM to face criticism for their performance ability, including disappointing live singing skills. Perhaps this is what has made many people not interested in the group's new album.
