The last two months of the year are the time when wild sunflowers bloom profusely across the country, displaying a vibrant yellow color that attracts many tourists to admire and take photos.

Wild sunflowers, also known as mountain sunflowers or wild daisies, are easy to grow, fast-growing plants that typically bloom in late autumn and early winter. Each flower usually has 13 bright yellow petals, radiating outwards in a large, round shape about 8-10 cm in diameter, surrounding a plump center. The wild sunflower blooming season lasts about a month and is at its most beautiful for two weeks after blooming.
In Ha Giang, the end of the year is the time when buckwheat flowers, a characteristic flower of the rocky plateau region, bloom profusely. From around October to the end of November each year, in Phong Quang commune, Vi Xuyen district, about 8 km from the center of Ha Giang city, wild sunflowers are also displaying their vibrant yellow color.

From around October to December each year is the season when wild sunflowers bloom profusely in Dien Bien . The color of the flowers is like warm sunshine, dispelling the winter chill of the Northeast region.
Along the roads leading to Dien Bien Phu city and the districts of Muong Nha, Muong Ang, and Dien Bien Dong, the golden color of wild sunflowers can be seen in villages, streams, and hillsides. In the 1920s, when the church and nine villas were being built... In Ba Vi, Hanoi , the French brought this wild sunflower variety to cultivate. Its rapid growth has made the wild sunflower a signature flower of Ba Vi.
Wild sunflowers in Ba Vi National Park typically bloom around October and November each year. From the park entrance to an altitude of 1,100 meters (the area at the foot of the Upper Temple), the wild sunflowers paint both sides of the road yellow. The area with the highest concentration is at an altitude of 400 meters, with a vast forest of flowers covering up to 10 hectares. In other areas, the flowers are scattered in clusters.

With its suitable climate and soil, wild sunflowers are also widely grown in Tam Dao town, Vinh Phuc province. During winter, the weather in Tam Dao town is very cold, sometimes dropping to 2 or 3 degrees Celsius, so few other flowers can bloom. Therefore, wild sunflowers are the dominant flower at this time. The wild sunflower season here begins around October and lasts until around December.
About three years ago, wild sunflowers were widely planted at the homestay of Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang in Hamlet 3, Tam Dao town. Hundreds of wild sunflower bushes planted on the hillside bloomed in a vibrant yellow, becoming a favorite check-in spot for young people. Along with mustard flowers and poinsettias, the yellow color of wild sunflowers adds to the beauty of Moc Chau plateau, Son La province , in winter. The flowers begin to bloom around October and last until the end of the year.
The vibrant yellow of wild sunflowers can be seen along National Highway 6, the road to Thong Cuong, Ba Phach, Van Ho, Loong Luong villages, the road to Tan Lap tea hill, the tea hill near Pa Khen sub-district, and the dirt roads around Moc Chau town, according to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration website.
In Son La province, the Suoi To highland area is also a place where wild sunflowers bloom profusely. Along the road from the center of Phu Yen district to this area, wild sunflowers densely line both sides of the road, radiating a warm yellow color that dispels the chill of the highlands.
The wild sunflowers here grow naturally in the fields, along fences, and on both sides of the roads. The western branch of the Ho Chi Minh Trail (the section passing through Huong Linh and Huong Phung communes in Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province ) is one of the favorite routes for backpackers. Recognizing that the climate and soil here are suitable for wild sunflowers, several individuals and organizations have expanded the cultivation of this flower species from the wild-growing clumps.

From the end of September to the end of October, Da Lat, Lam Dong, will be in its most beautiful season of wild sunflowers. The most beautiful wild sunflower route in Da Lat is Trai Mat - Cau Dat - D'ran town, especially the section from Trai Mat to Cau Dat tea hill. In addition, the route from the old Cam Ly airport to Ta Nung pass also has one of the most beautiful flower viewing spots, at the old Cam Ly airport (in Ward 5), only about 3 km from the center of Da Lat city.
Prenn Pass and Lien Khuong Expressway, the section from the pass to National Highway 20 and then turning right onto National Highway 27, with wild sunflowers blooming along the winding roads and pine forests, is a favorite location for many couples to take wedding photos.
In the city center, visitors can go to Da Lat University (Phu Dong Thien Vuong Street, Ward 8) to see wild sunflowers. Alternatively, from Palace 3 (Trieu Viet Vuong Street, Ward 4) to the clay tunnel and Tuyen Lam Lake, visitors will pass a long stretch of road lined with wild sunflowers.
