A young man takes a photo at Vo Nguyen Giap Square. |
Vo Nguyen Giap Square - the central area of Thai Nguyen province, on autumn days is brilliant with red flags and flowers. Following a young photographer - Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, on a sunny afternoon dyeing the entire urban streets yellow, we witnessed the image of people from everywhere eagerly pouring into the Square area, some wearing red flag shirts with yellow stars, some wearing traditional ao dai, holding accessories showing patriotism such as: red flag hats with yellow stars, flags, scarves... excitedly capturing patriotic images.
The camera in Tuan’s hand kept clicking, the reminders “Come on, everyone smile! Look at the grandparents!”… resounded with excitement. After a few minutes, the camera screen showed radiant images: grandparents with white hair, young parents and children in matching red shirts with yellow stars, all shining with pride.
“For nearly a month now, my schedule has been almost full. The demand for customers to come and capture memories with flags and flowers on National Day is very high. There are days when I work continuously from early morning until late at night, but I feel very happy. Because each photo is not only a service, but also a sacred memory kept for each family,” Mr. Tuan shared while adjusting the lens.
Not only Mr. Tuan, many other photographers are also quick to catch up with the trend. Mr. Ngo Dinh Tan, in Van Xuan ward, said: In the past, family photography mainly fell on the occasion of Lunar New Year. But now, National Day 2-9 has become an indispensable occasion. The street scene with flags and flowers flying all over the sky is the most wonderful "outdoor studio". With just a few minutes of posing, customers will have a beautiful and meaningful photo album.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa, a teacher at Edison High School, in a pure white ao dai, was posing with her colleagues to "check in" at many corners of the Square, sharing: I want to multiply national pride on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Taking photos to capture moments on September 2nd is not only popular with young people, but there are also families of 3 generations wearing red flag shirts with yellow stars who come to beautifully decorated cafes to take meaningful photos. For them, each photo is not simply to post on social networks, but also a collective memory that demonstrates national pride passed down to the younger generation.
Ms. Nguyen Thi An, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, with her mother and two children have just finished a photo shoot in red flag and yellow star shirts. On the table are still baked cakes shaped like a map of Vietnam that she made herself and a cup of hot Tan Cuong tea. She shared: I want my children to have beautiful memories of National Day. When looking back at these photos, they will understand that it is not just a holiday, but a sacred day associated with the colors of the national flag.
In the digital age, each photo is not only a way to preserve memories, but also spread widely on social networking platforms. A series of images of red shirts with yellow stars and traditional ao dai appeared, receiving thousands of likes and shares. That further contributed to multiplying the spirit of patriotism, spreading national pride in the community.
The September 2nd holiday not only brings joy and memorable memories to Thai Nguyen people, but also opens up opportunities for photographers to increase their income. Millions of dong in income in a day is not only a worthy reward for their hard work, but also a source of pride, as they contribute to preserving and spreading the spirit of patriotism through each frame.
