In schools today, in addition to the excellent sports teams established every year, there are also many other sports clubs at the same time, such as: martial arts clubs, badminton clubs, football clubs, volleyball clubs, chess clubs... attracting thousands of students to participate in regular activities. That movement has a great contribution of the team of teachers teaching PhysicalEducation at all levels who are not only good at their profession but also really dynamic and creative.
Speaking of Le Hong Phong Primary School (Phu Ly City), not only is the quality of comprehensive education increasingly improved, often leading the primary school sector of Phu Ly City, but it is also the mark of achievements in excellent student competitions in physical education, sports and grassroots sports competitions. Thereby, the school has a team of teachers in charge of sports training with enthusiasm, responsibility, always striving to strongly develop physical education and sports movements in the school.
Teacher Nguyen Van Sy is one of those teachers. Having been trained in physical education pedagogy and having a lot of experience in training, teacher Nguyen Van Sy has done a good job as a sports "coach" for the school. Working at Le Hong Phong Primary School and having spent a lot of time teaching Physical Education and participating in the selection and training of excellent sports students of the school, teacher Sy has made every effort to achieve the goal of completing his professional work well and promoting the development of sports movements in the school.
Teacher Nguyen Van Sy confided: When I was assigned to both teach Physical Education and participate with my colleagues in the professional group in training gifted students in sports, I myself initially encountered many difficulties, but we all clearly identified our tasks and responsibilities in contributing to improving the quality of the subject and the movement. In school, we promote the continuity and replacement of gifted students in sports teams, always pay attention to finding and discovering talented students right from when they first enter school and have a method of focusing on training. In each school year, I proactively grasp the plan to organize the gifted students in sports competitions of the city's Department of Education and Training; advise school leaders in developing plans to select students in each subject for training and competition. As for football, right at the end of the school year in May, I organized a community football club to meet every Saturday and Sunday, from which I discovered potential factors to continue training and form a team to compete in the city-level football tournament at the beginning of the school year. At the same time, I discovered and selected young students to have resources for the following school years.
It is known that despite the many difficulties due to the school's facilities not meeting the requirements of the Physical Education subject, such as: the soccer field is not large enough, there is no multi-purpose hall to serve the practice of badminton, table tennis... but teacher Nguyen Van Sy always finds ways to overcome those difficulties to have the best quality of teaching and learning. Accordingly, teacher Sy has always encouraged the spirit of talented students; increased coordination with parents in creating favorable conditions for students to practice sports. If when practicing soccer, but the conditions of the soccer field at school are not guaranteed, then during the practice sessions at school, teacher Sy focuses on teaching students basic passing techniques and on the weekend practice sessions, coordinates with parents to rent artificial turf fields to practice tactics. With table tennis, there is a combination of practice at school with students practicing at clubs outside the school. For badminton, there is no indoor practice field, teacher Sy uses a borrowed field to practice. Since then, the school has always had a good squad to compete and has a successor class for the following school years. With that effort, in the 2022-2023 school year alone, the teams coached by Mr. Nguyen Van Sy have achieved many remarkable sports achievements, with 6 students winning city-level prizes, 2 students winning the Gold Medal in men's football at the provincial level; at the provincial children's sports tournament, the school's football team ranked first overall.
According to teacher Nguyen Tien Lam (Ly Thuong Kiet High School, Kim Bang), maintaining and developing the school sports movement in general, high-performance sports among students in particular, in addition to the active support factors in terms of playground conditions, training equipment, physical fitness of students, without the role of proper and systematic training of teachers, it will be impossible to achieve the desired results. If teachers want students and parents to understand and be aware of building the sports movement in schools, they must make much more effort. Discovering a student with sports talent and aptitude is not difficult, but calling them to the team to practice and compete is not simple. Therefore, teacher Lam and teachers in the professional group have encouraged students and parents to let their children participate in the school's sports teams; Actively research lectures and exercises suitable for each student group and each sport, guiding students to practice first to improve their health, gradually nurture their passion and improve their achievements. At the same time, advise and coordinate the organization of school-level competitions, helping talented students to interact, creating more competitive spirit, as well as opportunities for them to compete. Over the years, the school's sports movement has always been maintained, gradually improving its quality.
