Storytellers of Dong Nai culture and arts

Not artists, nor cultural managers, but silent companions of art, creation or national heritage... They are reporters in the field of culture and arts (VHVN) in Dong Nai.

Cultural and artistic reporters of Dong Nai Newspaper and Dong Nai Radio and Television Station interviewed artists.
Cultural and artistic reporters of Dong Nai Newspaper and Dong Nai Radio and Television Station interviewed artists.

They travel, listen, write... like skilled "workers", preserving and spreading stories about Vietnamese culture, people and land over 325 years of formation and development.

Reporter Ha Trang (Dong Nai Radio and Television Station) has been following the field of Vietnamese culture for 10 years and shared: “Many people think that writing about culture is leisurely, as easy as going to an exhibition or a performance. But in fact, art viewings are usually on weekends and last all evening; the writer watches and records the stories and emotional scenes to introduce to the audience; or sometimes has to sit for hours waiting for the artisan to finish weaving a piece of brocade just to record each operation and each story behind the brocade motifs.”

When making reports on Dong Nai cultural heritage, reporter Ha Trang considers each relic as a witness, each festival as a memory crystallized over time. The most important thing when writing about heritage for her is not to praise or regret, but to tell it correctly, truthfully and movingly. Because, as she said: "When I write, that memory comes alive once more in the memory of readers, viewers, in the hearts of those who have never set foot on the relic or participated in the festival."

According to reporter Do Hong (Culture, Information and Sports Center of Bien Hoa city), writing about Vietnamese culture requires not only knowledge, but also love for the job. She said that during her 10 years in the profession, what bothered her the most was not the "hot" news, but the talented artists in Bien Hoa who were not widely known to the public. And if there were no press, who would tell their stories?

In the flow of modern journalism, when information is constantly changing, journalists in the field of Vietnamese culture are still quietly "preserving" the beauty and depth of history, culture, and people of Dong Nai through each article. Each article, reportage, and interview is like a bridge connecting the past with the present, connecting artists with the public, and connecting Dong Nai with domestic and international friends.

Reporter Van Anh (Dong Nai Radio and Television Station) has more than 15 years of experience writing about the arts and creative works of artists in the province. She said that writing about arts is not just about telling about the works, but about entering into the spiritual life of Dong Nai people - people who are still diligently writing, drawing, and creating. After many interviews, she still keeps in touch, occasionally sending articles back to the characters to read, or sharing good news when there are young people continuing to pursue the path that the characters have been and are taking.

Journalist Van Anh shared: “Journalism about Vietnamese culture is not just a job, but also a journey to preserve the beauty of the land and people of Dong Nai, through each small story written with the heart. Some authors spend their whole lives writing a novel, while it takes me a month to read and 3 days to write an interview, but the value will last forever. Readers may forget my name, but they will remember the story I tell. It is not about writing “following trends”, but about connecting and spreading”.

As for reporter My Ny (Dong Nai Newspaper), each article in the field of Vietnamese Culture is a door opening to the beauty of Dong Nai culture - so that seemingly silent values can be spread and preserved in the hearts of readers.

To make Vietnamese cultural activities present vividly in daily life, journalists in this field in Dong Nai are tirelessly contributing. In that quiet journey, each page of the newspaper is written with passion, each story is told with real emotion - like a small flame silently lighting up and spreading the beauty of Dong Nai's culture and people.
