After more than half a century, there are still bomb and bullet fragments stuck under his white hair.
Many wounded soldiers at the center suffer from chronic mental illness, cannot take care of themselves, and have difficulty controlling their emotions and behavior.
Now their memories and time seem to stop in the war, in the wounds of war. After the day of reunification, everything becomes vague and uncertain.
Kim Bang War Invalids Nursing Center ( Ha Nam Province) is currently caring for 71 wounded soldiers and 35 relatives of meritorious people. With disability levels ranging from 81 - 95%. The activities of some wounded soldiers are mostly taken care of by the center's staff, from eating to personal activities.
"Although many of them lost their ability to speak and think, when they watched the war footage, they still teared up and watched attentively. Sometimes, they suddenly became alert. They all talked about the war and their determination to unify their homeland.
We take care of you like we would our own family members," nurse Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, in charge of the rehabilitation medical room, emotionally shared.
