In Ninh Phuoc district, there are currently 29 cooperatives in various sectors and fields registered to operate under the 2012 Law on Cooperatives, including 22 cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector, 4 small-scale industrial cooperatives, 3 cooperatives operating in non-agricultural sectors, with 8,236 members participating, with a total registered capital of over 19 billion VND. Following the direction of the province and district, in recent years, cooperatives have focused on consolidating and transforming their operating models towards promoting capacity, improving efficiency, creating collective strength in production and business, contributing to increasing revenue, bringing practical benefits to members. Many cooperatives have applied advanced models to production, thereby forming linkage models in value chain production and consumption of agricultural products, serving as a bridge to transfer science and technology (S&T) into production such as: Model "1 must, 5 reductions" on rice; Building large fields to produce rice, corn, green asparagus; water-saving irrigation models, safe vegetable production, grape and apple production according to VietGAP standards... suitable for local conditions. Thereby, creating a product chain with high economic value, meeting market requirements.

For example, Phuoc An Agricultural Service Cooperative (DVNN) previously operated under the old model, so the efficiency was not high. In 2013, implementing the new Law on Cooperatives, the unit focused on converting crops, providing agricultural services and consuming products for members. Mr. Le Phuc Hoa, Director of Phuoc An Agricultural Service Cooperative, said: Through the signed contract, the cooperative coordinates, represents the rights and responsibilities of members; the enterprise is responsible for the production process, purchasing agricultural products... Thanks to that, the cooperative does not have to worry about finding output for the products, creating trust for members. According to calculations, the average yield of corn seeds is 8-9 tons/ha, with a selling price of 12,800 VND/kg, after deducting costs, farmers have a profit of 30-40 million VND/ha.
Or Tuan Tu Agricultural Service Cooperative has focused on converting crops, innovating production methods in the direction of linkage, applying science and technology to production; supplying agricultural services and consuming products. Mr. Hung Ky, Director of Tuan Tu Agricultural Service Cooperative said: Implementing the conversion according to the new model, the Cooperative focuses on building a large field model for growing green asparagus, focusing on applying science and technology to production to improve productivity and product quality. The Cooperative signs contracts with enterprises to consume products at stable prices, thus creating trust for members. Thanks to that, each year, members of the Cooperative earn a profit of 200-300 million VND.
The innovation of cooperative models in Ninh Phuoc district is gradually improving the quality of operations, especially cooperatives operating in the field of agricultural production have formed a number of production models associated with product consumption according to the value chain, contributing to the development of the local collective economy. Up to now, 16 cooperatives have maintained and expanded 15 large fields of rice, corn, and green asparagus, with an area of 2,353 hectares.
Comrade Nguyen Huu Duc, Vice Chairman of Ninh Phuoc District People's Committee said: In order to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of cooperatives, in the coming time, the district will continue to mobilize resources to promote collective economy, improve the efficiency of cooperatives with competitiveness in the market; build and develop new cooperative models operating in association with the value chain of safe agricultural products with high economic value; build cooperative models associated with the One Commune One Product Program; support capital for cooperatives to invest in replicating effective production models associated with processing and consuming products; promote the application of science and technology in production in cooperatives; effectively implement support policies to help cooperatives improve management capacity and operational efficiency towards improving service quality; promote linkages between cooperatives and enterprises in production and product consumption. At the same time, promote propaganda and training on the Law on Cooperatives 2012; Focus on training and fostering staff in charge of state management of collective economy at the local level.
