Mr. Duong Dang Minh, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of the district, said: To ensure the stable development of OCOP products, in addition to providing consulting support to businesses, guiding them through the process and procedures to qualify for certification, in 2023 the District People's Committee provided 484 million VND to businesses to apply technology, improve machinery and equipment to perfect production processes, support packaging design, labeling information, and traceability... in order to improve and increase the value of the products. Besides that, the district also coordinated with relevant agencies to promote trade, connect supply and demand for OCOP products so that businesses can increase the competitiveness of their products in the market, expand production scale and consumption markets, and contribute to increasing people's income.
Thai Thuan Agricultural Products Production and Trading Co., Ltd.'s OCOP products have established a strong brand in the market.
As a company that has participated in the OCOP program since its early days with many products related to apples and grapes, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quang, Director of Thai Thuan Agricultural Products Production and Trading Co., Ltd. (Nhon Son commune), shared: Currently, the company has 7 products that have achieved 4-star OCOP certification, including: red grapes, green grapes, fresh apples, grape concentrate, apple concentrate, grape wine, and brandy. Developing OCOP products and building brands is greatly contributing to the company's product sales as well as supporting the local area in economic development and creating jobs for local workers. This is an effective program that businesses and production facilities should pursue for sustainable development.
Sharing the same view on the effectiveness of the OCOP program, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, General Director of LKVN Herbal Joint Stock Company (Quang Son commune), said: The OCOP program has had a significant impact on the operations of small and medium-sized enterprises, creating momentum for businesses to develop and integrate. Currently, the company is cultivating 300 hectares of Centella asiatica and some other medicinal plants in Quang Son commune, investing in a processing plant with characteristic products from medicinal plants such as bottled drinks, Centella asiatica tea bags, and wild bitter melon tea. The company has 3 OCOP 3-star products, which is very significant, contributing to affirming the quality of products and the company's solid position in the market. To improve post-harvest products, the company will continue to build a 1.4-hectare medicinal herb processing plant in the Quang Son Industrial Cluster, while also collaborating with organizations, individuals, and farmers in the area to expand the raw material cultivation area to 500 hectares, combined with tourism , to help ensure a stable raw material supply and create jobs and income for local people.
In 2023, Ninh Son district had 28 products participating in the OCOP product evaluation and classification, including: bird's nest, cantaloupe, apples, grapes, beef, goat meat, lamb, and processed products from apples, grapes, and Centella asiatica, of which 17 were new products from 10 businesses. To date, Ninh Son has 29 OCOP products, of which 20 products have achieved 3-star quality and 9 products have achieved 4-star quality at the provincial level. To gradually develop OCOP products in depth, effectively and sustainably, creating new momentum to successfully implement the advanced rural development program, in 2024 the district will allocate 500 million VND to continue developing an additional 10-15 OCOP products. In achieving this goal, the district continues to direct efforts to promote awareness among officials, Party members, and the people about the purpose, significance, and importance of the OCOP program, aiming for strong dissemination throughout the community. In particular, it will provide further support and advice to help businesses understand the value of their products and move towards producing products responsibly towards the community. It will continue to create favorable conditions for businesses to participate in product promotion and marketing activities, prioritizing the expansion of land for production and improving product quality. It will also continue to support businesses with documentation, procedures, and related issues to help them feel more confident when participating in the OCOP program.
