From 2021 to present, the Ta Dung National Park forest protection force has discovered and destroyed 1,385 animal traps of various types; demolished more than 60 illegally built camps, and seized many flintlock guns, homemade air guns, and hunting tools. These synchronous measures have helped prevent illegal hunting in the forest, contributing to the restoration of the forest ecosystem.

Ta Dung National Park currently records more than 1,400 species of higher plants, of which 89 are endangered, 59 species are listed in the Vietnam Red Book. Regarding animals, there are about 574 - 650 species, with 70 rare species, 61 species listed in the Red Book and many species listed in the IUCN Red List. Ta Dung is also part of the Da Lat Plateau Endemic Bird Area, one of four endemic bird areas in Vietnam and one of 222 endemic bird areas worldwide .

Mr. Khuong Thanh Long - Director of Ta Dung National Park said: Preserving biodiversity, conserving wildlife associated with sustainable forest development has been the main goal of the unit for decades. In addition to patrolling, the park also coordinates with international organizations to research and monitor rare animal species. Thanks to that, many wildlife populations have been recorded to recover. In particular, the area around Ta Dung Lake is becoming an important habitat for migratory birds, contributing to increasing biodiversity in the whole region.

Lam Dong currently has a large area of forests and conservation areas. The province has established a system of national parks and diverse nature reserves. This is an important basis for the locality to preserve biodiversity and protect wildlife, in the context of the pressure of deforestation, illegal hunting and climate change.

Lam Dong currently has 3 national parks (Bidoup - Nui Ba, Ta Dung, Nui Ong) and many nature reserves such as: Phi Lieng, Da Nhim, Nam Nung, Ta Cu, Hon Cau... These are valuable "green lungs", distributed from the highlands of the Central Highlands to the sea and islands of the South Central Coast, forming a diverse and interconnected wildlife conservation network.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Forest Protection Department, in recent years, the province has implemented many synchronous solutions to prevent illegal hunting and trading of wild animals. The functional forces closely coordinate in inspection and handling; at the same time, strengthen propaganda to raise public awareness. Thanks to that, many rare animals and birds have gradually reappeared in the wild, demonstrating the effectiveness of conservation work.

Mr. Le Quang Dan - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: The agricultural sector identifies biodiversity conservation as not only a task of protecting the ecological environment, but also closely linked to the development of sustainable ecotourism. Currently, the province is coordinating with domestic and foreign organizations to research and replicate conservation models associated with the livelihoods of local communities.

With the advantage of the most diverse biodiversity in Vietnam, Lam Dong is facing the opportunity to strongly develop eco-tourism - experience, at the same time turning national parks and conservation areas into "safe homes" for wild animals. In fact, in some national parks and conservation areas, people have benefited from the effectiveness of nature conservation and biodiversity.

However, challenges in biodiversity remain. Deforestation, illegal logging and wildlife hunting still pose potential risks. Resources for conservation are limited, while the terrain is vast and complex. Therefore, in addition to the efforts of the forest rangers, the cooperation of the community, businesses and support from organizations, communities and people is needed.
