A corner of My An commune, Tay Ninh province
In this historical moment, many names of administrative units will no longer exist. The names may disappear, but the homeland and origin will still be there, nurturing more ambitions and dreams for everyone to step into the era of national development.
On July 1, the new administrative units officially came into operation. To prepare for this historic event, many localities have recently installed new nameplates to help people easily identify and facilitate administrative contact and transactions. When the old nameplates were removed, many people could not help but feel nostalgic and regretful, remembering the familiar and proud name of the land of "loyalty and resilience". Ms. Tran Thi Nga ( Long An ward) confided: "To me, even though the name is different, Long An is always in my heart. And no matter what the name is, we will never stop trying to contribute to building our homeland".
Born and raised between the Vam Co rings, Nguyen Hoang Tien (Tien Vam Co) has been through all the communes and wards of Long An. Each place name, name, culture, and history of Long An land is skillfully incorporated into the lyrics of his songs. And now that the names of many administrative units will no longer exist, those songs will forever be unforgettable memories. And I am sure that for those who love Long An, those songs will live forever.
Mr. Tien confided: “Despite being busy with work, I still spent a day driving to look back at the old administrative unit names before the new name change. Although the names of some places no longer exist, the homeland and roots are still there. And we are proud to be citizens of the S-shaped strip of land because everywhere is our homeland. In the near future, I plan to continue composing songs with the characteristics of the new Tay Ninh province.”
Five years ago, Ms. Le Thi My Ly (from An Giang ) went to Tan An City, Long An Province (old) to work. For a long time, the affection of the land and people of Long An made Ms. Ly consider this her second hometown. Then when the name Long An Province no longer existed, she could not help but feel sad.
Ms. Ly said: “I often tell my relatives about a generous and sincere Long An. Not only me but many workers far from home like me who come to Long An feel this. Long An has welcomed us, providing job opportunities and a very good living environment. I believe that with the available foundations, after the merger, the new Tay Ninh province will open up many opportunities for those who want to be attached to this land of affection.”
The implementation of the policy of rearranging administrative units has had a certain impact on the thoughts and feelings of cadres, party members and people. This is understandable, because every Vietnamese person has deep memories and images of their hometown, the place where they were born and raised. However, through the statement of General Secretary To Lam "the country is the homeland", many people were silent, because it was not only a call for a historic administrative reform but also demonstrated the strategic vision of the Party and State. Thereby, it further affirmed that the revolution of rearranging administrative units will open up a large space for development, bringing the homeland to new heights.
On July 1, many administrative unit names will no longer exist, but we believe that with the available foundation, love for the homeland and country will be the driving force for the Party Committee, government and people of Tay Ninh province to continue writing the proud heroic epic in the journey ahead./.
