At this time, farmers across the province are entering the spring peanut harvest. In key peanut growing areas such as Bac Quang and Quang Binh districts, fresh peanuts are sold to traders right after harvest in the fields. The price of peanuts remains stable as last year, bringing higher
economic value than some other crops.

Farmers in Bang Lang commune (Quang Binh) are busy harvesting peanuts. |
In the 2024 Spring crop, the peanut growing area of the whole province reached 5,461 hectares, an increase of 1.1% over the same period last year; the estimated yield was 27.7 quintals/ha; the estimated output was over 15,000 tons. The main varieties were L14, L27, L29 and local varieties. Thanks to the proactive crop calendar, adequate supply of seeds and fertilizers for farmers and proper care according to technical processes, peanuts grew and developed relatively well. However, due to erratic rain and sunshine, some peanut growing areas were waterlogged, affecting productivity. Currently, the purchase price of fresh peanuts ranges from 11,000 - 15,000 VND/kg. On sunny days, people focus on harvesting the spring peanut crop, and at the same time, urgently improve the soil to ensure the planting time frame for nearly 4,000 hectares of peanuts in the upcoming Summer-Autumn crop.
